0 PL Computer Technology ConsoleI finished school for the semester, am almost done with the initial draft for my next novel, or rather novella, and I just built a new computer, and have spent the past few hours getting everything up to snuff. It required a lot of editing and modifying to the main software itself, mostly through things like Classic Shell because Microsoft doesn’t deserve the borderline monopoly they have. So look forward to game reviews based on far stronger hardware, and some more graphically demanding games. (more…)

1 P4G I need an adult becoming grown up no longer a child think of the kids youngsters little onesNeptunia Re;Birth3 is taking forever because it is a Neptunia game and twice as long as it needs to be. Meanwhile, I have yet to touch Student Transfer, and now Higurashi Chapter 2 is out. I would start binging, but I have two papers due next week, and I need to work on a group project in addition to my next novel, so I’m a busy little buckeroo. I also want to buy my new computer parts soon, build it, and get my new PC all ready, but that may need to wait until after this semester… when I’m working full time for a month. I also want to come out as transgender, but am so terrified of worrying my poor mother that I feel I can’t. Also, I’m turning 21 on Wednesday. Growing up is hard! (more…)

I’ll hopefully get better once I return to a school based schedule this week, and hopefully my first semester of full-time college does not cause me to dive down the despair drenched drain to the dirty and dingy darkness. 0 Jojo CEO paul marketting badnes oh dear gameinustri is on fire fuck the policeI know that it would be really hard, and the framerate would constantly plummet to 20 fps if one is lucky, but I really want to see a game where you can destroy all the buildings in it. Sure, there was Red Faction Guerrilla, but I want something like that set in a big modern city, as I get bored seeing the same darn sights when commuting every week and want there to be a game where you can cause collateral damage to millions and cost the city trillions as you destroy national monuments for the lolz. Instead the closest thing to what I want is No Man’s Sky, but I’m pretty sure the space cops will kill you if you try to dig a hole through the other side of the planet just to see how the game handles this. You are an ignorant fool if you deny the inherent sexiness of a lizard!

I really do love E3 as an event. Well, not in regards to actually going there, as it’s an awful physical place that is hot, loud, smells like an armpit, and is so chaotic in its construction that it is hard for anybody to get anything done. The actual press conferences are speeches to investors, casual observers, and the gaming community at large that often stir up disappointment and mockery while stirring up the needless hype the industry is built upon, but there is pretty much always something wonderful and worth talking about hidden beyond the bullcrap. It’s kinda shitty when you get down to it, but it is so much fun to follow, especially when taking it all in with friends, or with an eye on your Twitter feed. (more…)

0 E3 2015Steam Summer Sales started serenely and sadly my selection of specific software ‘s selling-price stayed- screw this shaz. I keep a list of reservation prices I keep for certain games, which I adhere to well, and there were not a ton of games whose selling price dropped beneath the reservation price. So far I got Metro Redux and Epic Fantasy Battle 4 because I have some nostalgia for mid-ots Newgrounds. I will get Momodora III, Dysfunctional Systems: Learning to Manage Chaos, and DreadOut as the sale ends, but will wait to see if there are any dailies. I set myself a limit of $100 to spend, which is harder because I need to now pay taxes on Steam purchases… (more…)

0 HeroJob You Should Really pay attention to people and not hide in the sink you weird listen out of your bubblrSo, there is very clearly something going on with Zero Escape 3. I did not bring up the countdown website as nothing had happened, but it has recently updated and Kotaro Uchikoshi tweeted out some cryptic numbers, which when gven their letter value turn into FNJANUUVNWXOXDAFXAM and KYVCFEXVJKEZXYKNZCCYRMVREVEU. When put through a Caesar Cipher decryption, which involves the letter value being shifted by a set amount, 17 for the first one, 9 for the second one, you get the messages WE ARE ALL MEN OF OUR WORD and THE LONGEST NIGHT WILL HAVE AN END. You know what that means? Ever 17’s getting a re-release, and the previous two Zero Escape titles are coming to PC along with part 3… I know I got that wrong, but a girl can dream, can’t they? gengar_junji_ito.0.0_cinema_960.0So, on the day after my twentieth birthday I was told that the company I work for as an office boy wants me to fill in some big shoes over my winter break from school. Meaning that instead of learning how to use Ren’py as I had planned while working on the Vivian James X Girl In My Dreams story, I will be making some money to afford that MSI GTX 970 Graphics card I’ve been eying for a while. Along with 16GB of RAM and maybe a new monitor… I’ve wanted that stuff for months, okay? (more…)

shiny_gengar_pokemonOn Friday I did something I haven’t done in quite some time, and went into a GameStop. It was so I could pick up a Shiny Gengar, and because I forgot to go last Friday. I decided to walk there, even though the nearest GameStop is 2.5 miles away, but because I have never walked that far from my home before in my life, I got lost as I missed the street I was suppose to turn left on. I did end up finding a GameStop, one that was not my destination, and they had run out of codes. I found my way to my planned destination, and they were out as well. Meaning I walked about seven miles for nothing. Thankfully an employee told me to call Nintendo to get a code, so hopefully my ghost will be gotten yet. If not, I’m probably going to get Diancie this week.

Cripes, I would hate to be alive during a war that had any relevance to most of the world, I would be tired of the bloody concept after a single season. 0 Watamote This Bitch is crizzle dawg She be destroying her pantsOkay, so this whole Zoe Quinn, Phil Fish, JonTron, “Gamer” validity, Journalism Debate, thing that apparently has been dubbed #Gamergate by some dolt, which I think will result in 37 murders, 7,208 layoffs, and 72 company deaths, has been going on, and I’ve lost track of what the hell is happening. All I really gathered was in the form of 4Chan deciding to fund a game made entirely by women, and creating the character of Vivian James, who I will end up using the design of in something I have yet to properly outline. She will probably have a Di-Sword or some shit. Oh, and thanks to TotalBiscuit for keeping a calm head about the situation and making this peachy keen blog post. But let’s not talk about that and instead, let’s just talk about VA-11 HALL-A a bartending sim about “waifus, technology, and the hard lives of post-dystopia citizens”. If it was on the Humble Store and had a Steam Greenlight page, it would already have my $8. Seriously though, check it out! (more…)

0PGOS Adorfable face of cute chubbinessFor the past… I don’t even know how long, there’s been a lot of talk about bringing in a wave of diverse characters and trying to lessen the use of characters fitting a mold of being straight white males with short black hair, athletic builds, and possibly some beard scruff, as that is quite frankly an incredibly dull mold when you consider how those sliders can be manipulated. Hell, when I started writing, well, writing something that I actually completed, I specifically went out of my way to avoid that mold, when I was dealing with the medium of writing, which is where the character’s visual appearance does not matter all that much as it is not a visual medium. Yet I still went out of my way to make sure I had balanced ethnicity well, even if I boiled it down to four variants, White, Black, Hispanic, and Asian, made them either pansexual or asexual, and make sure the character at the very least obtains a female form if they do not begin with it… The Transformation, Ascension, and Degeneration of Terra is coming to this blog 11/18/2014 or sooner! I’ve got about three more chapters and two months of editing left to do, so I’d say early October. Probably. (more…)

Fuck E3

It is rather pointless for a little slice of nowhere blog with only a small number of views to do a summarization of the E3 press events, especially when they were not watching them live due to real life events, such as work. But I got home to catch the latter two, and catch up with the former before Nintendo did their event and managed to get everything done before Tuesday’s end… well after everybody and their brother did their own version of this, and often far better than my assorted ramblings that are made all the dumber by the insertion of anime screencaps. It’s Nigmabox’s third annual Super E3 Rundown!

P4G Portal to the meat dimension what is this madness and insanity fuck it in its bug buttholeI realize that these intros have become Persona 4 Golden playthrough summaries as of late, but that’s what I’ve been spending more time on than most people spend working a full time job. It is a colossal behemoth of a game that I love and loathe in ways I hope to convey properly with what will hopefully be my blog’s second year anniversary post… oh, wait, I guess this is actually it… Why did I think it was the twenty-seventh? Oh, that’s when I poorly reviewed Kid Icarus Uprising, my first published review exclusively for my second blog. Guess it will just need to be the honor of being the 135th game I reviewed for this site… That’s actually quite a lot for two years if you really think about it. Oh well, pre-E3 pickings time!

SF No, that would be bad and we do not want things to be poor when it is normal that should be good not poopyIf I haven’t plugged it enough, please go out and buy The Body of Raiyne! It is my first novel and is only a dollar, hell, it may end up being even less later down the line and for brief periods. In addition to that, I have started work on my next novel, which will sadly probably not come out until the year’s end, possibly even later if I go through my idea for the short story, Psycho_Shatter. Psycho_Shatter is a terrible idea as it features a main character with major mental problems that I will not research and will probably include a person being burnt alive in an oven. But I still want to do it in order to have a massive wanker of a protagonist be placed in situations where he just rants about everything while being the most fragile little shit I have ever conceived. But onto the video games!

buttholeWith my recent apathy toward a few minutes of Monaco and refusal to play a game with as terrible lighting as Doom 3, I now have four games left on my Steam library that I designated as ones I should play. Mind you, I have plenty to replay on PC, but now all I’m left with are a gore fest, a game with terrible text and no controller support, a $5 impulse buy, and a game I dropped 16 hours into back in October. So forgive me if I decide to focus on anime reviews for a while, which should actually be refreshing starting when I review Kill La Kill on the 31st.

Nutha

“What do you want to see from games in 2014?” is a question that I raise an eyebrow towards, as I view it as a very simple one to answer. Less hissy fits about minor details, stay positive and hope companies don’t do dirty actions, and keep on putting out great games. Bam! I think the question is more focused towards what people really want out of Gen8, but then I can’t answer the question properly, as I made myself a PC that I named after this here blog I made about a year beforehand. I got more games than I got over the past three years in the past seven months so jack could happen this year and I’d say it was still pretty good. So here’s a bunch of old C Grade news.
