July 13th – Jade & Caroline’s Austrian Adventure Episode 3
Part 1: Jade & Caroline’s Café Adventure
Date: Monday, July 13, 2015
Time: 17:28 CEST (Central European Summer Time)
Location: Vienna, Austria
As their week in Austria was coming to a close, Jade(Caroline) and Caroline(Jade) had ventured to the capital of Vienna. After their bopping around Chicago earlier this summer, going to another city in another country did not seem like much of a difference, but European cities like this were simply… different.
The twisting and non-Euclidian street design made the act of progressing through the city on a human level feel more intuitive and tangible. The narrower streets and lower speed limit made the act of walking more comfortable, if not freeing, even if there were asshole drivers, as there are everywhere. Bike racks, cyclists, and street side seating were far from uncommon in Chicago, yet they seemed to be truly everywhere in Vienna. Even the architecture strangely put them at ease, the way buildings were flush against each other, the decorated window sills, and their pleasantly consistent height.
Vienna might have lacked whatever peaks and excesses Chicago had, as one of the first cities to be rebuilt with skyscrapers in mind, but it was a thoroughly pleasant place to exist within. Which is precisely what Jade(Caroline) and Caroline(Jade) were doing. With the day mostly done and the night looming over the horizon, the two were taking a break at a café located along a side street. It might not have been the best view, but it was secluded, quiet, and gave them the privacy they felt they needed.
Jade(Caroline) was wearing a freshly purchased forest green sleeveless turtleneck paired with a long black skirt and heels, her blonde hair flowing onto her shoulders and back as she sipped a hot tea. She looked truly elegant, refined, and more of all, mature as she looked at the architecture and greenery before her, her mind drifting before returning to her “daughter.”
Caroline(Jade), by comparison, looked far more casual and rough around the edges. Her hair was the same poofy ball of curls as it had been since the beginning of the vacation, but a recent trip to a local thrift shop gave her a simple yet decently fashionable look. With a white skirt, an off-the-shoulder black top, and a red jacket— probably from the 1980s, but it held up damn well. She looked like a girl ready for an adventure in the big city, sipping on a sweet latte as she looked around her, clearly more anxious than her “mother.”
Jade(Caroline): “[You know, I’m really going to miss this place…]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Oh, don’t be so dramatic, MOM. We’re still here for another full day. Besides, weren’t you talking about how much you wanted to go back to ‘normal?’]”
Jade(Caroline): “[That’s not what I was saying. At least not what I ‘meant’ to say. You know, ‘back when I was your age,’ I would always wonder what I’d be like when I stopped being a teen and became a real adult. But now that I’ve had some fresh perspective… I think I might even be looking forward to it. People really do treat you with a lot more respect when you’re a beautiful woman in her thirties.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Yeah, a lot of guys will do anything for a woman with a pair of boobs as big as yours…]”
Jade(Caroline): “[…You’re not wrong. Though, I have to say that these things haven’t been nearly the bother I thought they would be.]”
Pausing, Jade(Caroline) lightly felt up her boobs, as if they weren’t given enough attention with her tight summer sweater.
Caroline(Jade): “[…Why would you think that?]”
Jade(Caroline): “[Well, it’s something of a trope, a thing that is commonly referenced across writing and speech. Plus after that incident with Shiaka—]”
Just mention of Shiaka in a conversation about boobs was enough for Caroline(Jade) to nearly spit out her latte, coughing as she felt the beverage slip back up her throat.
Caroline(Jade): “[Really? You think—you think ‘your’ breasts are as big as hers?]”
Jade(Caroline): “[N-No, what I’m getting at is that… She’s mentioned how sore her back got with those and carrying her backpack, and, well, you know what happened back in November, and all the times we’ve ‘gotten together’ during the summer.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Oh, that’s what you were getting at. With breasts, it’s all about proportions, far more than it is about sheer size. And you’ve got over ten centimeters on her.]”
Taking a moment to look down at herself, meaning her boobs, Jade(Caroline) snickered.
Jade(Caroline): “[What I’m getting at is that I would not mind if I wound up growing into a woman like you ‘myself.’]”
Caroline(Jade): “[I don’t want to burst your bubble, but most people don’t have sudden growth spurts after turning 18. Besides, I’m pretty happy with this body I’m in. It’s cute, tall, nimble, and after being in it for ‘so long,’ it feels comfortable. I didn’t realize how much I wanted a break from… my usual. Not just in how I looked, but in how I felt. You might like being treated as the adult, but when you’re 18, you are a lot more free socially. You can do dumb things, get into trouble, and hang out with other kids. Which is before considering how I have absolutely zero aches and pains, without even needing to stretch.]”
Hearing Caroline(Jade) voice her perspective on being young just made Jade(Caroline) feel all the more old, bringing a hand to quickly rub her shoulder as she spoke.
Jade(Caroline): “[Please tell me you’re not going out to a museum tonight. I don’t want a repeat of what happened two days ago.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[If Maxxie were here, I’m sure she’d say something like ‘it’s not a crime is you didn’t get caught.’]”
Jade(Caroline): “[It was a 300-year-old sculpture, and you nearly shattered it.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[In my defense, I was—]”
Jade(Caroline): “[Just forget about it.]”
Neither were inclined to divulge specifics, if only for their own sense of pride, yet the animosity in Jade(Caroline)’s voice indicated the severity of what Caroline(Jade) did. Or, at least, what she nearly did.
Caroline(Jade): “[You know, Verde said that she would give us something for doing this for her. I still don’t know what exactly I want, but I’ve been thinking about what this could mean for me and… him.]”
The way she said “him” was all Jade(Caroline) needed to know she was talking about Reyn.
Caroline(Jade): “[If he is willing to ‘act’ 18 again, then we could have the teenage romance we never did. We can start our lives from zero, and pave our own path, informed by our experiences. I already said that I don’t regret anything. My life’s pretty good all things considered. But… part of me wishes that I could fall in love with the right handsome boy this time.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[You’re really devoted to him, you know.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[You say that like it’s wrong to fall in love with your ‘childhood friend.’]”
Though Jade(Caroline) wanted to cap back with some comment on how she at least got together with Maxxie when they were still teens, she held her tongue. It was best to not to get into an argument like that, even if the Kayfabe Substitution Mode wasn’t altering their speech.
Jade(Caroline): “[So, what do you think ‘I’ should do with ‘my’ childhood friend after they go away to’ school?’]”
It took Caroline(Jade) a moment to clue in on what she was saying before offering a reply.
Caroline(Jade): “[Oh, that. Well, ‘you’ said you planned on getting a job. ‘You’ were studying how to use QuickBooks to be a bookkeeper after ‘you’ did some side work for ‘him’ all those years ago. It’s simple, routine work, but it feels like you’re doing something. Meanwhile, ‘I’m’ going to have the college experience of a lifetime with a little entertainment aid at my disposal.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[…Just to clarify, JADE is staying at home for the first two years, going to Oransen Community College. It’s not going to be an ideal college experience by any means. It’s just going to be high school part two.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Well, maybe I can ask Verde to pull some strings and I can stay in the city as I attend Loyola. That could be fun, don’t you think?]”
Caroline(Jade) was going off, having too much fun with this conversation to be stopped, leaving Jade(Caroline) to shrug and surrender. She went for her cup of tea to find solace in this loss, where she was greeted with a few final drops. Looking before her, Caroline(Jade) was similarly done with her drink. While it was normal to just chat at a café for hours on end in this continent, Caroline(Jade) took this as cue for her to leave, and Jade(Caroline) did the same.
Jade(Caroline): “[I’m not sure how I feel about us being separated for a full night during this trip, but…]”
Caroline(Jade): “[We’ve got dates.]”
Hearing her put it so matter-of-factly was enough to spur a sigh from Jade(Caroline).
Jade(Caroline): “[…But now I’m even less sure that this is a good idea.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[What was it I said three days ago?]”
Jade(Caroline): “[…I forget the exact words, but it was that I should enjoy the journey for what it is, that I should embrace new experiences.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[And wouldn’t it be hypocritical if I didn’t live by my own advice?]”
There were many things that Jade(Caroline) could have said, but she held her tongue, opting for a safer response.
Jade(Caroline): “[Are you sure Reyn’s going to be okay with this?]”
Caroline(Jade): “[A one night stand is not going to upset him anymore than it would upset Maxxie.]”
Hearing her spit out such snark from her daughter’s mouth was enough to make Caroline(Jade) laugh. She was never much of a teaser, yet the thrill of the situation brought out the best, or worst, from her. Whipping out her phone from her jacket pocket, she checked the time and directions to her date spot, before looking at Jade(Caroline) again.
Jade(Caroline): “[Just… make sure you’re back at the hotel before 23:00, alright?]”
Caroline(Jade): “[That shouldn’t be a problem. Have a nice date, MOM.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[You too, DAUGHTER.]”
The two split off in opposite directions, looking through the European city streets and up at the sky, shifting in colors as evening drew near. Both only carried with them the lightest expectations of how tonight could go, concerned that it could be a boring dud, but they carried themselves proudly, hoping to at least walk away with a story to tell.
Part 2: Jade’s Restaurant Adventure
Date: Monday, July 13, 2015
Time: 18:55 CEST (Central European Summer Time)
Location: Vienna, Austria
As the streets became buzzing with life, as people left work and pursued their nightly activities, Jade(Caroline) walked off the street car in a classier part of the city. It was just a few blocks away from St. Stephen’s Cathedral, tucked away in a side street, illuminated by a powerful light hanging overhead, connected by thin wires. Or perhaps they were cables. There was enough foot traffic to make her feel safe, but she still clutched her purse as she walked through. She scanned the buildings, struggling to find a clearly labeled address, before looking into a window and seeing the interior of a restaurant. Looking up at the sign, this was the place.
Reassured of her ability to find an establishment, Jade(Caroline) walked in through the opened door and darted around looking for her date. It was not a particularly large establishment— it was in what looked to be a century-old building— so she swiftly found who she was looking for. A man who appeared to be in his late 30s or early 40s and who looked rather… unassuming. He had thinning dark brown hair, but certainly wasn’t bald. His face was clean-shaven without so much as a stubble. And he was dressed like he just left the office and came out to dinner, only ditching his tie, wearing a light blue short-sleeved dress shirt with slacks and dress shoes. Honestly, the biggest tell was that he was alone.
Looking around at her surroundings, Jade(Caroline) found the place to look rather vintage. With exposed brick walls, brick flooring, chairs that practically looked like antiques, and a deluge of wood paneling. This was clearly a place with some history behind it, they even displayed it on their walls, but this was not what she was here for. She was here for the date.
Taking a deep breath, she moseyed on up to her supposed date and made her presence known.
Jade(Caroline): “[Hi, are you Stefan?]”
The man practically jumped as he heard his name and jumped again as he laid his eyes on Jade(Caroline).
Stefan: “[Yes, yes, I’m Stefan. Stefan Becker. And you must be Caroline. I have to say, you look even more beautiful in person.]”
It was a cheap line, yet Stefan said it with the frazzled intonation of a man half his age, making it more endearing than anything. Jade(Caroline) took a seat across from him at this table for two, taking care to not scrunch up her dress.
Jade(Caroline): “[Thank you. You’re rather handsome yourself. I half expected you to be using a fake photo or something.]”
Stefan: “[No, no, perish the thought. I’m a simple man with nothing to hide.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[Really? Then tell me a little bit about yourself. I think I told you everything you needed to know in my profile. I… might have divulged a bit too much information, but I wanted to make it clear this was a one night thing.]”
Stefan: “[Ah, yes. You’re a single mother on holiday with your daughter, I got that much. I’m just surprised you’d want to go on a date with a bloke like me. I’m just a civil servant, trying to make my country function as intended. Fielding complaints, making sure things get done, and doing a lot of bureaucratic work. Nothing glamorous, but necessary to make the city shine as she does.]”
As he spoke, Jade(Caroline) began perusing the menu, still focusing on what he said, but too hungry to wait more too long for her meal. She just could not get used to the later meal schedule of many Europeans.
Jade(Caroline): “[Sounds like you have your life all figured out then. …So why were you on that hook-up app?]”
Stefan’s face grew a hue pinker as he mused over that answer, rubbing his neck like a man with a terrible poker face.
Stefan: “[It, uh, it can be hard to find people and talk to them after a divorce. I’m not sure you’d understand or—]”
Jade(Caroline): “[I do. I, uh… I finalized my divorce with my ex two and a half years ago.]”
Though she did not want to, the bitter memories of Caroline crying her eyes out with a twisted mix of relief and sorrow on January 13, 2013 ran to the forefront of Jade’s mind. The memory still stung, yet she did not dawdle on it.
Stefan: “[Oh? That’s about when my ex and I got divorced. Funny little coincidence that is! We wanted to stay together longer for the kids, just so they could grow up with two parents, but… I’m not quite sure if things play out the same way in America.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[I’m sure that they follow the same general strokes, but let’s not dwell on unpleasant memories. So, I take it you live here in Vienna?]”
Stefan: “[Ever since I was 11. I hope she has lived up to your standards.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[Oh, she definitely has. We simply don’t have cities like this in America, and there’s a lot we could learn.]”
Stefan: “[There is, but… let’s just say it’s not easy. With Austrians, changing a bus line or adding a new route is an ordeal, and I can only imagine how hard it is to convince Americans to not drive their cars.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[That’s true, but not every American likes driving. …As a single mother, I of course had to drive my… daughter around, but I ‘she’ would not drive if she could rely on public transportation.]”
After six days like this, Jade(Caroline) stopped questioning when and what the Kayfabe Substitution Mode would replace.
Stefan: “[Huh. I guess they make them of all sorts over there. I’m grateful that I don’t need to schlep my kids around anymore. Tobias might still be a kid in my eyes, but he knows how to get anywhere nowadays. Especially places I’d rather he stay away from.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[Tobias?]”
Stefan: “[He’s my oldest. 20-years-old, attending a local university. My daughter, Emma, is a year younger, and currently off in the countryside with her friend.]”
For some reason, the name Emma sounded familiar to Jade(Caroline), yet she could not quite associate it to any face. It was a common name in America, so it was probably a common name here.
Stefan: “[Ah, sorry about that. I’m not really the most exciting guy around, so I always go back to talking about work or family.]”
It was true, and while Jade(Caroline) was playing her role, she was not enraptured by this man. He was personable and pleasant, yet he was ultimately just some man twice her age. Still, she didn’t want to waste an opportunity, or walk out on a meal like this.
Jade(Caroline): “[I’m on vacation, and that’s exciting enough for me. So, are you about ready to order?]”
Stefan: “[Right, right, that’s what we’re here for, are we not? This place is renowned for its schnitzel, but… how do I say this…]”
To an outsider, it would look like Stefan was checking Jade(Caroline) out as best he could while she was sitting down, but she could tell he was looking at her trim waist. “You don’t seem like the type of woman who’d regularly eat schnitzel” seemed to be the phrase wafting in his mouth.
Jade(Caroline): “[I had some two days ago, so I’d like to try something different. …How are these lentils with roasted brioche dumplings?]”
As she said the name of the item, Stefan pulled out his menu, looking around for it like he had never so much as seen it before.
Stefan: “[That… I cannot say, but a place like this does not put anything on their menu unless it is up to their high standards.]”
Upon making his comment, Stefan gestured to a waiter to place their orders, requesting a pork schnitzel dish for himself, evidently his usual here, Jade(Caroline)’s dish, some fries, and a full bottle of wine. The waiter took the order post-haste and scampered away like a ghost in the night.
Jade(Caroline): “[Wine?]”
Stefan: “[Yes, but of course. It is the least I could do, and I cannot stand the idea of a tourist not experiencing the glory of Austrian wine.]”
For some reason that did not register right in Jade(Caroline)’s mind. Wasn’t there some scandal a few decades ago where Austrian wine was full of anti-freeze or something?
Jade(Caroline): “[R-Right, I almost forgot to sample your country’s wine. I’ve, uh, never been much of a drinker.]”
Stefan: “[Eh, that I can understand. Some people don’t like to lose sight of their selves, but after a long day, it does the mind and body good to cut loose.]”
With their food still a good twenty, thirty, or however many minutes away, and their wine arriving in one, Stefan poured a glass for himself and Jade(Caroline). She looked at the liquid as it moved gracefully in its glass, smelling as any fruit juice she had ever smelled, if a bit… distorted by her new nostrils. Memories of her last exposure to drugs on July 4th went to the forefront of her brain, and she reassured herself that, no matter what, she would not get busy in another restaurant restroom.
Part 3: Caroline’s Nightlife Adventure
Date: Monday, July 13, 2015
Time: 19:32 CEST (Central European Summer Time)
Location: Rathausplatz, Vienna, Austria
Every summer, the heart of Vienna was home to a weeks-long film festival, drawing in crowds of people across the nation— across Europe. The event was home to live music, film premieres, copious amounts of food stands, and immense crowds, drawn in by the promise of parties, art, and the cheap price of free. It was common to see people of every demographic, but as an outdoor and crowded festival, it naturally skewed towards a younger demographic, which Caroline(Jade) slotted nicely into.
While night hadn’t fallen, the party already began. People were off of work, ready to socialize, and hitting up the food vendors for dinner and drinks. The scent of alcohol and fried food wafted through the air, only soured by tufts of invasive cigarette smoke, and people were coming and going in droves. Folks were passing by, grabbing a seat, and chatting with friends all as bright yellow lights were flicked on and music played across a carefully placed series of speakers.
Though she knew that it would be best for her to embrace the opportunities before her, Caroline’s small town upbringing kept her idling by with a juice in hand as she periodically checked her phone. Habitually, she stared at the photo of a young man, double-checking her location. Her message history with him showed a selfie she took of herself, standing by one of the more recognizable drink stalls.
Caroline(Jade): “[He’s not going to stand me up, is he? Ugh… Come on, Caroline ‘Jade,’ it’s just a date. You’re a teenager now, but you’re not really one ‘a kid.’ …Why do I bother thinking out loud like this?]”
As the minutes ticked on by and her drink depleted, Jade(Caroline) continued anxiously looking around, sweating, shaking, and regressing to the temperment of as a schoolgirl going on her first date. She knew it was stupid, but being in this unfamiliar place, in her daughter’s body, it was hard for her to carry herself with her usual level of confidence.
…That is, until he appeared.
???: “[Hey there! You’re Jade, is that right?]”
Jade(Caroline) nearly threw her drink as she heard a voice approach her from behind, stepping out from the tree coated park area surrounding this public square. She turned and was greeted by a man who matched the photo she was looking at a moment ago. A young man with thick dark brown hair, standing about 180 centimeters tall, and with a fairly average build. Average would not be a bad way to describe him. He had a boy next door look to him, not bashful, not bold, but comfortable and decently confident in his status of a young man. He was dressed as every other guy his age was here, copping a T-shirt and shorts, his university backpack on his shoulders, even though it was a festival. The weird people were the ones who didn’t dress for the weather.
If anything Caroline(Jade) was the odd duck one for wearing a jacket, but at least its man-sized pockets meant she didn’t need a purse.
Jade(Caroline): “[H-Hey there, yes, Jade is me, I am— Yes, my name is Jade, and you must be… Tobias, right?]”
Tobias: “[Yeah, yeah. Sorry if I spooked ya there.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[It’s fine, it’s fine. I’m just not used to being around so many, uh, people.]”
Tobias: “[It can be overwhelming, but if you’re only in town for a few days, you NEED to check out the festival. C’mon, let me show you around.]”
With Tobias offering her the opportunity to do something, Jade(Caroline) promptly nodded and followed alongside him as they ventured into the crowd. She took a moment to bask in the sights, hearing the idle chatter of passers-by, seeing the tall buildings that poked out from behind the stands and trees, and narrowly brushing past people looking to have a good time.
Tobias: “[So, what do you think? This place here is a point of pride for the city. Every year Rathausplatz is taken over, and every night we break loose, make some memories, and have a hell of a time. So don’t look so uptight, American girl.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[‘Uptight?’ Do I really seem uptight?]”
Tobias: “[Eh, maybe you just need to get some food in you. Anything catch your eye?]”
The options around Jade(Caroline) were plentiful, if not overwhelming, and that fact… annoyed her. She felt like she was becoming too much of a wallflower, acting too much like Jade, so she shook her head, frizzing her curly hair, and took a breath. She was here to have fun, make decisions, and see where they brought her. So, she grabbed Tobias by the hand and threw him at the first food stall she saw, one that only had a small line of young folks waiting for their hot street foods.
Caroline(Jade): “[So, Tobias, tell me a bit about yourself. Are you a local or just visiting here for the summer?]”
Her voice, volume, and stature shifted from where they were just a few seconds ago. She was telling herself to stand taller, have more presence, and be aggressive, and while she was not doing splendidly, the effort was clear, and this effort left Tobias frazzled… but intrigued.
Tobias: “[I’m a local, yeah. Vienna is my home, I think it will always be home. I’m currently attending university, working towards my engineering degree, but I try not to think about that too much during the summer. As my dad likes to say, ‘you’re only young once, so you better savor it.’]”
For as much as Jade(Caroline) wanted to make a snide comment about how youth can be prolonged through certain transformations, she assumed her words would just be mutilated by her mental shackles.
Jade(Caroline): “[Yeah, totally. That’s why I’m here. ‘I’ just graduated from high school a month and a half ago and figured now is the summer to go out, see the world, and get into some ‘trouble.’]”
The telling inflection put on “trouble” there made Tobias shift as he stood, wondering just what he got into.
Tobias: “[So, uh, what brings you to Vienna in particular? We get tourists, sure, but not a lot of Americans. Especially not a lot of Americans who speak German half as well as you.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[Let’s just say this seemed like the best option at the time, and was on my mother’s radar. And that I’ve been having a lovely time so far. So, are you here every night or something?]”
Tobias: “[Eh, not quite. You know what they say about too much of a good thing, right? I’d love to say that I’m big on traveling like you, Jade, but I’m not quite so adventurous. I don’t really have the cash needed to take a train to another country, and my dad’s not willing to just take me on trips around the world, y’know.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Aw, that’s a shame. And here I thought travel was common for Europeans across the board.]”
Tobias: “[Maybe when you’re a professional with holiday pay, but not so much when you’re a student, I’m afraid.]”
As their conversation went on, the two finally arrived at the start of the line of the simple grilled meat type food stall. Jade(Caroline) perused the small menu and looked at the meat grilling before her to finalize her choice, only for the woman manning the cash register to perk up as she saw Tobias.
Grill Girl: “[Yo, Tobi! How’s it going? I don’t usually see you here. You’re normally too busy playing on your computer.]”
She was an affable looking girl. Short in stature with short hair, a freckled face, yet she seemed decently strong for a young woman, with visible muscles on her arms, the skin dotted with small burn marks.
Tobias: “[H-Hannah! What are you doing here?]”
Hannah: “[Working! Making bank before I gotta go back to uni. So you gonna order something or are you just getting in the way of my paycheck?]”
Tobias laughed at Hannah’s comment, clearly having a pre-existing relationship with this woman. Caroline(Jade) kept quiet though, hoping she would not be noticed, when from the way Hannah looked at her… she absolutely knew what was going on.
Tobias: “[Just get me a schnitzelsemmel.]”
Hannah: “[Got it. Schnitzel burger with extra pickles for good old Tobi.]”
Tobias: “[You know it!]”
He looked into the kitchen as Hannah she quickly whipped up a burger for him with the finesse of a trained line cook, plopping it in some wrappings before leaving it on the counter.
Hannah: “[6 Euro for you, and for your girl, I’ll get her something special. Something to wet her appetite.]”
Tobias: “[Eh? You don’t mean a—]”
Before Tobias could stop Hannah, she plopped a fresh footlong sausage from the grill and put it into a bun, lathering it with sauerkraut, adding some sliced onion, and squeezing a hearty dose of mustard on it.
Hannah: “[And here’s a world renown Viennese sausage for you, tall girl.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[I don’t know what’s going on between you two but, uh, thanks.]”
Choosing the path of least resistance, Caroline(Jade) grabbed the sausage, struggling to stay within its massive bun, and took a bite out of it. She wrapped her mouth around its impressive girth before sinking her pearly whites past its breaded armor and into the soft juicy flesh within. The sauerkraut has a strong acidic taste, as a fermented vegetable, and while its harshness was enough to give her pause, she powered through it, smiling.
Hannah: “[Oooh. I wonder if that’s a preview of what’ll happen tonight.]”
Tobias: “[C’mon, you know I’m not that kind of guy.]”
Hannah: “[Eh, it’s more a question of if she’s that kind of girl.]”
Caroline(Jade) appeared to barely hear the two as they whispered at each other, the sound of her phallic dinner being loud enough to drown out their words. She just looked on as Tobias slapped down six Euro and grabbed his schnitzel burger.
Hannah: “[Lemme know how it goes with the American girl. I want all the juicy details, ya hear!]”
Responding only with a smile, Tobias walked away as Caroline(Jade) followed, casually eating her free sausage before Tobias found a free seat for them.
Caroline(Jade): “[So, tell me about this Hannah girl.]”
Tobias: “[Eh, let’s just say she was a former girlfriend of mine.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[My, so you’re an experienced man, eh? And to have such a cordial relationship with an ex….]”
Tobias: “[When you start as friends and then start dating, it’s important that you remain friends when it doesn’t work out.]”
After a bit of prying, Tobias dug into his burger, like he had been waiting a third of the day to dig into his meal. He looked on at Caroline(Jade) as she ate her fat long sausage, smirking a bit as he watched her chew. Caroline(Jade), however, was more interested in the people around her, bustling away and making out a crowd that… sure looked pretty familiar. Despite being almost halfway around the world, it was no different. People still dressed the same, walked the same, and the only difference was the stark lack of any Asian, Hispanic, or Black people. There may have been a few, but they felt like bonuses rather than a fact of life.
Her mind then drifted to the music playing, muffled by all the ambient noise, but what she could only peg as 80s Austrian rock music filled her with a sense of nostalgia and a sense of something new. She smiled as she comprehended the full context of what she was doing, being young again, in a foreign land, wearing a new face. However, the sight of a festival, its general atmosphere, remained largely the same, no matter where she was or even who she was at the moment.
Tobias: “[Can I get you something to drink?]”
Tobias brought Caroline(Jade) back to reality, having finished his burger and standing up, happy to be looking down at her.
Caroline(Jade): “[I take it you’re a beer man.]”
Tobias: “[I’ve been to enough parties to see it as the standard. Wine’s a bit too sweet for my liking, same with most of my mates.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Well, not mine! Go and surprise me with something sweet. I’ll… be sure to grade you appropriately.]”
She then punctuated her sentence by biting into her sausage, now down to less than half it length. The sight was enough to make Tobias flinch, yet he smirked as he left Caroline(Jade) to finish her meal, which she did with vigor. Neither her body nor her mind were used to eating this late, so she was more than a little hungry.
By the time she finished, Tobias returned to their table, holding a half liter mug of beer in one hand and a highball glass full of a bright green fluid. Caroline(Jade) knew well enough to not try any strange drinks given to her by a man she just met, especially if she has no idea what they were. However, if she wanted to play it safe and be sensible, she wouldn’t be here in the first place. With a smile, she toasted her drink with Tobias. He chugged a solid tenth of his beer in one go, while Caroline(Jade) took a single sip of hers. It has a delectably sweet taste, like pineapple of all things, and the sweetness urged her to go in for another sip.
Caroline(Jade): “[Yum! You made a good choice with this one. Uh, what’s this drink called?]”
Tobias: “[I think they called it mermaid water. Seemed appropriate for a girl with green eyes who came from across the pond.]”
Not being a connoisseur of alcohol, Caroline(Jade) had precious little reference for what that name meant, or even what type of drink it was. So she kept on sipping, treating it as a dessert as she felt the alcohol splash into her stomach. It mingled with the acidic sauerkraut and greasy meat as she felt her mood calm down and something different come over her body. She briefly remembered last week, when she was in Tony’s body and ate that brownie. But this… this was a different type of buzz. She wasn’t hungry or particularly horny, but she felt the need to move, to stand up, and to do something.
Tobias: “[So, Jade, what have you been—]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Hey, so is there any place we can go out and move around. This festival’s nice, but I’m a bit too… loose to just sit down and watch a movie.]”
It did not take Tobias long to look at Caroline(Jade)’s face and realize what was going on. It was slightly pink and from the way she smiled, he could tell she was already under the influence.
Tobias: “[Maybe I should have asked for something a little weaker. What’s in mermaid water?]”
As he said that, Tobias reached for his phone, only for Caroline(Jade) to step out of her chair and grab him, looking at him with a sultry gaze.
Caroline(Jade): “[Just live for the moment, we don’t need to know everything.]”
Tobias: “[Uh, Jade, I know the drinking age in America is 18, but are you—]”
He already knew the answer. Caroline(Jade) was unquestionably drunk, unsurprising given how Jade had not so much as tasted a drop of alcohol in her life. Her alcohol tolerance was in the toilet, and for as sweet as they may seem, a cocktail is not the best choice for one’s first drink. Especially not a rum-based one…
Caroline(Jade): “[Oh, I’m just swimming— with the mermaids— right now. Is there anywhere I can just, you know, cut loose, dance, and maybe down another one of these mermaid waters?]”
Before Tobias could answer, she downed the remaining 80 milliliters in one go— like a White girl trying to get wasted. Tobias looked at her, looked down at himself, and shrugged.
Tobias: “[I suppose I wanted something interesting to happen. Yeah, I know a place. It’s a bit of a walk, but you seem to be standing just fine.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Oh, you’re such a gentleman, Tobias. I can’t believe I almost went to Europe without seeing one of your nightclubs. You give me sausages, drinks, and now I can just dance the night away. You’re so good to me.]”
With her drunkenness increasing and desire to resist nonexistent, Caroline(Jade) gave Tobias a peck on his cheek. A loving gesture, yet one that inspired him to down half of his beer before rushing off. Tobias moved through the crowds like a man on a mission, his date shakily following behind him as they ventured through the streets of Vienna, trekking for about five minutes before reaching their destination. It was an unassuming doorway in a back alley, guarded by a lone man, tall, muscular, with a black T-shirt that may as well have the word bouncer on it. He gave the two college aged kids a look, saw that one was clearly already drunk and, with a shrug, opened up the door for them.
Immediately, the quaint and classical feeling of an old European city was shattered as the two entered what felt like another dimension. Bright blue, pumping purple, and whimsical white lights were flashing from the ceiling, moving across a dance floor full of people, just cutting loose. The sounds of electronic music— or rather dubstep— practically assaulted them as they entered, loud enough to be imposing and present, though not quite loud enough to prevent one from thinking. Came close though.
Booth chairs seats were on one side of the establishment, a bar was on the other, and at the stage stood a DJ at the turntables, their body decked out in a red panda mascot costume. While it was hard to see through the colored lighting, the DJ was wearing a shirt over the costume, bearing the name “Doctor Redd P. Good” written in a cursive font.
How and why this DJ was here was not a concern to Caroline(Jade) however, who took to this sight like a fish— or perhaps mermaid— to water. She immediately rushed onto the dance floor with no wherewithal, joining in the festivities before her. Deep down, Caroline(Jade) knew this was reckless, dumb, and she didn’t even like these overly loud and bassy beats. Yet, her desire for experience, to embrace the teenage life handed to her, drove her forward.
Tobias was more restrained, looking around at the crowd, before spotting enough guys who looked like him to build his conviction, joining his date as she looked for her groove. There were no hard rules, no moves you needed to know, just the beats you had to move to, and the vibes you had to embody as they were dished out. Grace did not matter, poise was optional, and so long as one let the alcohol in their bloodstream and music in their ears mingle, they could enter a state of euphoria. It was a vibe, a place where their problems did not matter, tomorrow did not exist. Where all that mattered was having a good time. Right here. Right now.
Part 4: Jade’s Night of Delight
Date: Monday, July 13, 2015
Time: 20:31 CEST (Central European Summer Time)
Location: Vienna, Austria
Jade(Caroline) stared at the table before her. Their meals had been long finished, the plates taken away, with only their dessert remaining. An Austrian sweet bread dish known as kaiserschmarrn, a plate of fluffy pancake scraps covered with powdered sugar, served alongside lingonberry sauce. She casually dipped a scrap and brought it to her mouth, before reaching for her wine glass to wash it down. The wine bottle on their table had been emptied, and while they still had some in their glasses, it was only a few sips at most for each.
As she returned her glass to the table, she drifted her eyes back to Stefan, who was in the middle of laughing from a joke that he just found hilarious, leaning in his chair as he glanced at the ceiling.
Stefan: “[You know, Caroline, I didn’t know what to expect when I agreed to this. I know I keep saying it—]”
Jade(Caroline): “[But you don’t do things like this every week.]”
Stefan: “[Neither my heart nor my wallet could take it. But you… you’re a catch.]”
Hearing such a comment, Jade(Caroline) could not help but reflect inwardly. The amazing dinner still warmed her belly as it was slowly digested. The subdued sweetness of the kaiserschmarrn danced across her refined palate in a way that reminded her of her body’s age. Though she had never dabbled with alcohol, she understood why many would, as it was as if her doubts, inhibitions, and worries has flowed away like water. She felt comfortable, cozy, confident, and, cloudy enough for her to forget certain things. Deep down, she knew the truth of who she was, but in the moment, it was easy to forget, as everything told her she was nothing but Caroline.
Feeling the contours of her face. Looking down to see a pair of plentiful breasts wrapped in form-fitting fabric. The way her blonde hair gracefully spread across her shoulders and back. How her ass felt as she sat firm on what should have been an uncomfortable wooden chair. And, of course, there was Stefan. To him, she was nothing but Caroline, and through their dinner, she had come to see him as something a bit more than a decent enough guy to try having dinner with. He was kind, a true gentleman, and she felt… at ease when around him.
Jade(Caroline): “[I’m a catch? I would say the same about you. After everything that happened with Bryce, it was easy to feel a sense of… disdain for men. He beat my mom ‘me,’ abused me, lied, cheated, and stole from so many people. As my father ‘husband,’ I felt I had to look up to him as a role model ‘love him no matter what.’ And when that… love was shattered, I didn’t think I could look at men quite the same way. I don’t need a saint to look up to, a paragon, a renaissance man who excels in every facet. I just need… a good guy. Maybe I will be able to love Maxxie as a man when she gets her new male body ‘a man like you.’]”
Whether it be due to the wine or how her words struck his heart, Stefan began to get misty eyed at her words, turning his head away as he looked away, not so subtly wiping away his tears.
Stefan: “[Th-Thank you, Caroline. Though, uh, I think you might be mistaken. I’m nothing special, just an average guy. I wasn’t even good enough for my ex-wife. I throw myself into work too much. I get so focused that I can’t even find salt on the table sometimes. But you… the fact you’ve made it through everything you’ve been through and remained such a kind soul… it makes me wish that you were a local. I never thought I could get so attached after just one night. Especially to an American woman like you. I figured you would be too, how to say it… self-absorbed?]”
Jade(Caroline): “[I… I don’t consider myself to be a selfless person. I’ve lied too much, allowed myself to suffer to protect others rather than tell them the truth, and have been spending all summer… just fucking around. If I were selfless, I would be helping people, but since school got out ‘Jade got out of school,’ it’s just been one thing after another. Even this… even this is just a way for me to make memories, for me, to see more, without doing much. I should be working on my writing ‘skills,’ I should be studying for college ‘my future bookkeeping job.’ Yet, I am spending the night with you. I’m glad that, at least I could make you happy.]”
With a heavy shuffle of her drunken body, Jade(Caroline) stood up from the table and shuffled two paces to Stefan, looking down at him, gently nudging his chin, and planting a kiss on his lips. She felt the warmth of his breath flow into her mouth, tasting the wine on his breath, and shuttering her eyes. Her body twitched with excitement as she finally touched him, certain places enhanced by the half bottle of wine running through her system. Jade had already gotten familiar with this body, before she even landed in Austria, and while she was careful about it after that, she had not let taboos limit her behavior.
Who she was and who Caroline were had become murky under the influence. She retained her sense of self when Lilian, just with fewer inhibitions, but now, but here, without the ability to even say who she was, nearly a week into this immersive experience as Caroline, “she” had become ambiguous. A month of rampant sex had primed her mind. Months of sex with Reyn had trained Caroline’s libido. Caroline’s chat with her urged her to go forward, to pursue the experience before her. Yet… the Jade within her was still refusing, demanded that there be hard limits.
The murkiness of language, the fallibility of memory, and the way emotions and chemicals intersected with them left Jade unsure what to do. Yet, when the time came, when she felt her loins begging for some Austrian cock, she chose to flee. Giving him one kiss before disappearing into the night.
Deciding on her course of action, Jade(Caroline) turned away, her eyes on the main entrance to this restaurant. She took a step, two, and intended to take however many more, only for a hand to grab her wrist. She nearly tripped in her heels on this brick floor, yet she had just enough composure to avoid a trip to the hospital.
Turning around, she saw Stefan, leaning forward, nearly getting the kaiserschmarrn on his shirt, a determined look on his face.
Stefan: “[M-My apologies, Caroline. I just cannot bear to let you go without saying… without asking if you would like to come back to my apartment.]”
“Shit,” Jade(Caroline) thought to herself. Now the situation was different. She could say no. She could always say no, yet it was so much harder, now that a new experience was before her, promising to be something that could shape her.
She pondered to herself: “When else would I get to do this? With Maxxie, I’m not going to be hooking up with people in college, I’ll be in a relationship after that… right? Sure, I have a thing with Reyn, but… he’s thousands of miles away, and Stefan is here. Desperate. It… it would be selfless to help him. We would both get a story to tell, and… either I do it with him or I do it with that toothbrush again.”
Jade(Caroline): “[Yes.]”
She bit her tongue as she agreed to Stefan’s offer, but a second later, she felt relief wash over her. She made a decision. Now to see if it was the right one.
Anticipation, excitement, and concern melded in a fiery pot as Jade(Caroline) followed Stefan’s lead. They left the restaurant and now they were going through the city. Stefan moved with a pep in his step, as if he was going to lose her if he didn’t move fast enough, while Jade(Caroline) marched forward as much as she could in her long skirt. They ducked through narrow streets, passed trams, and even cut around a festival where a giant screen was playing a movie before a crowd of hundreds, all before walking to the third floor of one of many five-floor apartments. It was a journey in and of itself, more complicated than taking a cab or driving, but the exercise only seemed to diminish her doubts.
Stefan opened the door, revealing a surprisingly spacious apartment. With a proper living room, kitchen, and a clearly lived in atmosphere. Nothing about it stuck out to her as a red flag. There were no corpses, crucifixes, or cluttered creep crap, and before she could see how big it truly was, her shoes were off and purse was laid down.
Already barefoot, Stefan urged her to come in, giving her a tour, yapping about his apartment, the kids who lived with him, and begging her forgiveness for his “mess.” She half-expected him to sit her on the couch, to give her more drinks, yet Stefan was a touch more bold than that. He urged her to follow him to the other end of the apartment, where a cluster of three bedrooms laid. None were too spacious, and just a glance said they belonged to college-aged boys and girls. Yet, she was instead brought into the master bedroom. A queen-sized mattress laid before her, a dresser to its left, and an emptied vanity to its right.
The mirror was angled in such a way that Jade(Caroline) could see her reflection, see Caroline’s face staring back at her.
At first, she was surprised, shocked that her daughter would do such a thing… before a few facial muscles shifted her expression to something more pleasant. Something warm. And with this approving expression before her, she mouthed a phrase that had pushed her forward more than she would care to admit. A Maxxie-ism, a motivational mantra, taken from a damn GameCube game of all things. “Just go for it!”
Stefan: “[Caroline? Caroline? Are you listening to me? Ah… maybe this was a mistake.]”
Jade(Caroline): “[I’m ready for it.]”
Stefan: “[Huh? I’m sorry, I just meant to show you around, I did not mean to—]”
Jade(Caroline): “[Stefan… I barely know ‘who’ I am supposed to be right now, but I’m not stupid. When a man brings a woman to his bedroom after a date, he only wants one thing. I don’t want to back off, so if you could just…]”
The gears slowly shifted within Stefan’s mind as he processed Jade(Caroline)’s words, unsure if she was misspeaking or if she was throwing herself at him. He looked her from top to down, from her blonde hair and blue eyes to the green sleeveless sweater covering her boobs to the long black skirt that hid away her legs. He knew what he wanted and, with a gulp, chose to be bold once again.
Stefan: “[Caroline, you are like a woman from a dream. Just, please do not get angry with me. Because…] I am going to fuck you.”
Why he decided to say that part in English was beyond Jade(Caroline). Fortunately, she was beyond caring.
Jade(Caroline): “Then fuck me.”
Latching onto the scenario before her, refusing to back away, Jade(Caroline) began to strip herself before Stefan, taking off her top, pulling down her skirt, and even flinging off her socks. She had enough wherewithal to place her clothes in a rough pile on the abandoned vanity, too hazy in the brain to understand the symbolic implications, before plopping herself on the covers, wearing nothing but a set of sensible underwear. Stefan eyes assaulted her form, gobsmacked by its beauty. Even a week of travel was not enough to make it any less meticulously maintained. He stripped down in record time, plopping his clothes on the floor and whipping his dick from his sensible boxer briefs. It was average, adorned with prickly public hair at the base of the shaft, covering the balls. Clearly, shaving was not as big here as it was in Chicago, but he’d have to have a wart-riddled cock to get Jade(Caroline) to back down now.
As the father of two children, Stefan approached Jade(Caroline) with confidence, joining her in the bed and starting with a bit of foreplay. Grabbing her, kissing her as she kissed him, and bringing his body close to her. The hairs of his chest felt strange, almost prickly as Jade(Caroline)’s nipples rubbed against him, while his erect penis found its way between her legs, grinding against it as she grew wet in anticipation. His arms gripped her back, the coarseness of his fingers contrasting against the smooth skin covering her spine, and the same was true for every part of him. She returned the favor, flowing her fingers through the faint hairs of his back, and brushing herself against him.
She waited for Stefan to ready himself, to break past the precipice and go all the way, yet not wanting to instigate things, just wanting it to happen. Fortunately for her, it did. Stefan’s eagerness took the reins, and he pulled back, shifting himself before sliding into Jade(Caroline). She winced as she felt the totality of her sex, reaching deeper than she dared go, and it left her shivering in satisfaction. Stefan could tell from her moans that he was on the right track— that he still had it after however long without sex— and with this reassurance, he continued.
He showed his affection, his commitment, by pulling his face toward her body. Stefan kissed her neck, her shoulders, and arms, not being afraid to lick the sweat from off her form, and even bring his tongue to her nipples. It was nothing that Jade(Caroline) hadn’t experienced, but every body had its quirks, and with her senses in such a slurred state, it felt like she was being titillated by a creature committed to pleasuring her.
With every pump, her relief grew. She was here. She had made it, and she was finally feeling what this body could experience in the throes of sex. This is what she committed herself to. To not being a teenager, but a grown and mature woman on holiday, finding a decent man, and enjoying something raw, something warm, that made her feel alive. Like… like she really was Caroline. The mirror was out of view, but she began muttering her body’s name underneath her breath. “I’m Caroline, I’m Caroline,” repeated over and over again, as she dove deeper and deeper into this experience. There was a part of her that hated this, that was shouting about the broken taboo, promises that may have never been made. Yet, that voice could no longer be heard. For “Caroline” was in control.
“Caroline” moaned, she begged, she performed before Stefan, urging him to go faster, harder, and to not hold back. Stefan tried to oblige, thrusting as fast as he could, leaving her floating, elated. She gasped as he brought her to an orgasm, his hairs tickling her clit with every thrust, yet she was not satisfied, pushing him further while accommodating him, swaying her hips in whatever way felt natural in this position. The woman was too far gone to think about finesse. Too immersed into her own fantasy.
“Caroline”: “[If I woke up, and was stuck like this… I would not even be mad.]”
Her second orgasm followed as she uttered that line… only for her to be left in that state, Stefan pulling out and haphazardly grabbing a tuft of sheets at the bottom of the bed, cumming into it. The sudden loss of stimulation was a shock to “Caroline,” yet Stefan merely laughed as he finished in the sheets, and not in her.
Stefan: “[S-Sorry about that. I would have worn a condom, but I don’t have any on me and…]”
By the time Stefan finished his explanation, “Caroline” had already shut her eyes. The thrill of sex sapped the adrenaline from her body, and the wine took away the last of her energy. Sweaty and sultry, she had fallen asleep, her mind of burgeoning desires culled, not to restart until the alcohol left her body.
Stefan looked at her, gingerly touching her cheek, before wrapping the outer sheet around her. He got up only to lock the door before joining her, tucking himself in the inner sheets.
Stefan: “[Good night, Caroline. And… thank you, for everything.]”
With that, Stefan joined “Caroline” in dreamland. Both ignorant that, just a kilometer away, a similar scenario was underway.
Part 5: Caroline’s Night of Delight
Date: Monday, July 13, 2015
Time: 21:55 CEST (Central European Summer Time)
Location: Vienna, Austria
Over an hour since they came to this club, Caroline(Jade) and Tobias were still on the dance floor. Their bodies close, grinding against each other, as the intense wubs from the speakers blared. The room practically vibrated from the powerful bass, coursing through their bodies, shaking up the alcohol in their systems. Their bodies were coated in sweat. Their mouths were left dry from a decided lack of water. And wherever they looked, they saw plenty of people just like them. Celebrating the summer, celebrating their youth, as they let it all out, dancing the night away until they could not dance anymore. Which, for Caroline(Jade)… was right now.
She fumbled in her shoes and landed in Tobias’s arms, laughing as she looked up at him before planting a kiss on his lips. He embraced her, returning the gesture, before pulling her away from the dance floor and to the surrounding sofas. Caroline(Jade) fell down like a sack of potatoes, her body oozing into the folds of the cushy couch as she giggled. With her safe, Tobias headed to the bar, grabbing a glass of water and handing it to her. She tried drinking it, yet her waning motor skills caused her to spill half of what she drank, dampening her off-the-shoulder black top. Though, she seemed to be in good spirits about it.
Tobias: “[You know, when I first saw your picture, I thought you’d be a more homely girl. But I guess what they say about American girls is true.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[I… I guess so. Now, get closer to me.]”
Caroline(Jade) then latched onto Tobias’s arm, snuggling it with her face as he sat beside her. The fatigue of an hour of dancing had gotten to the both of them, and Tobias flipped out his phone to check the time. It was still early in the night, relatively speaking, but with them both beat, and with alcohol doing its job, there was not much sense in staying in such a noisy room.
Tobias: “[I don’t know about you, but I think that’s a night for me. Uh, do you remember where you’re staying tonight? I’d offer my place, but my dad wouldn’t like it if I brought a girl home.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Aw, we can g-go to my place. I… I’m in charge there. Hahahaha!]”
Whatever opaque reference Caroline(Jade) was making was lost on Tobias, who patiently waited for Caroline(Jade) to name her hotel. He typed the name in his phone to check the directions and, with a goal in mind, schlepped himself up and grabbed her. The trek to the hotel was not particularly long to venture to on foot, yet Caroline(Jade) was not in a good condition to walk, let alone travel. Caroline(Jade)’s composure was, well, that of a drunken 18-year-old girl. She was shaky on her feet, swaying as she walked and at risk of falling with every step. Her confidence overflowed into a stream of semi-conscious laughing at anything. The air brushing against her face, sight of a passing car, everything was funny to her in some way as she was brought out of the club and into the broader world.
Tobias guarded her as she stumbled about, holding onto Caroline(Jade)’s sweaty hand as he directed her to her hotel. He grounded her to this reality, pulling her back whenever her blurry mind fixated on something passing by, going so far as to wrap his arms around her as they walked. It was not a particularly comfortable way to walk— every step took nearly twice the effort with Caroline(Jade)’s weight against him. Yet, as she began to nuzzle her face into his chest, he could not get mad at her. If anything, he laughed.
Upon reaching the hotel, the two were greeted by a fairly modest establishment. A hotel clearly repurposed from something or other, with dim evening lighting and a single person working the desk, a book in their hand as they leaned back in their chair. Tobias was certain that this desk person had seen them, yet they had the grace needed to keep their mouth shut.
Taking a lift to the second floor— as stairs were out of the question with a drunk girl on one’s arm, Tobias asked for Caroline(Jade)’s key card to the door, which she fortunately still had in her red jacket. He used the number printed on this card to navigate to the correct suite, opening it up and flicking on the lights to find… a normal hotel room. The room had with two beds, a pair of suitcases along the floor, and some backpacks alongside them. Nothing had been unpacked, there was no sign that anyone else was here. There were a few snacks on the counter, the plush white fox from Hallstatt on a dresser, but they clearly were living out of their suitcases. As Tobias took a look around, he deemed this a safe place to leave Caroline(Jade) as she passed out for however many hours.
Tobias: “[Your mother’s not here, but… I’m a bit grateful for that, I hate to say.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Ah… Tobi, you’re such a good man. Why are you guys so hard to find? Hahaha!]”
Tobias sighed at her comment, forgetting how many times she said something of the sort.
Tobias: “[Are you going to be okay if I leave you here?]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Yeah, I’m gonna be fine! Don’t worry about—]”
As Caroline(Jade) said that, she yanked off her shoes and slammed into a conveniently placed wall, butt first, before sliding down it. She resumed laughing as her rear reached the carpeted floor.
Tobias: “[Ah, I suppose I can at least help you get to bed. Your clothes are definitely dirty, but I would not expect that to matter much in a hotel. Please, go to the toilet and relieve yourself, I’ll see if I can get something to clear your head. Is that alright with you?]”
Rather than respond with words, Caroline(Jade) hoisted herself up from the floor, latching onto the wall, before wrapping herself around Tobias with enough force to push him down, yet he resisted. She kissed him, her breath still sweet from her third mermaid water, before muttering into his ear, nearly licking it in the process.
Caroline(Jade): “[You are such a gentleman. I wish I met you instead of Bryce ‘sooner.’]”
Not even aware that her words were altered, Caroline(Jade) drunkenly moseyed over to the hotel washroom, leaving Tobias with his heart racing and mind deep in the dumps.
Once in the washroom, alone for the first time in hours, Caroline(Jade) casually made her way to the toilet. She hoisted down her skirt to relieve herself, the piss striking the bowl to create a pleasant sound that brought with it a moment of clarity. Where she was, what she was doing, and how deep she was in. All things she had taken for granted had been given greater emphasis. After spraying herself with the bidet, she stood up, leaving her skirt and panty on the floor, and looked into the washroom mirror. There, she saw Jade. A girl who she recognized as her daughter, she knew she was deep down, but as her mind processed where she went, what type of scenario she was in, she began to… loosen her understanding.
She stripped off her red jacket and black top, leaving only a beige bralette clothing her body, and that too was discarded, thrown in a corner of the room. In the mirror, she saw… her reflection. She saw a naked teenage girl with a body she had explored before even landing in this country. She brought her hands to her poofy brown hair, finding it strangely wet, and another one to her chest, cupping the entirety of her small breast, squeezing it gently. A moan escaped her mouth as she felt a spark course through her body, and she stared into her green eyes. Eyes that nicely contrasted the reddish hue her face had taken over the course of the night.
Caroline(Jade): “Am I really doing this? …What would Reyn ‘Maxxie’ think… That’s right. Jade is not my daughter ‘me.’ I am Jade. This is my vacation. And I have a… a responsibility to myself to make the most of it. Just like I told ‘my mother.’ C’mon, Jade, let’s show Tobias a good time.”
Completely naked, Caroline(Jade) stepped out of the washroom, slightly more composed than she was two minutes ago, yet still unmistakably drunk. As she walked, she found Tobias in the kitchen, stirring a glass, mixing some sort of powder with water, likely some hangover cure. He seemed oblivious to her as he stirred, only seeing her as he turned around, nearly dropping the glass at the sight before him.
Tobias: “[J-Jade! I, uh, I was not aware that American girls liked to sleep in the nude. But if it makes you more comfortable—]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Stop. You know what this means. You gave me a great night, and I want to make it extra special. Not for you. Not for me. But for us.]”
She laughed as she finished her line, but continued to draw closer to Tobias. He placed down the glass out of concern, leaning against the kitchen counter, while Caroline(Jade) reached down to his shorts.
Tobias: “[A-Are you sure that you want to—]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Hannah said it was a ‘preview,’ didn’t she? Let’s see if you’ve got a footlong yourself.]”
With one clumsy yet forceful motion, Caroline(Jade) yanked down Tobias’s shorts and boxer briefs, revealing a penis. Erect, pointing up, sweaty, smelly, and about seven inches in length. Tobias froze as his date inspected his dick, looking at it with only a foot of distance, before smiling. Tobias looked at this sight, clenched his face and decided… he had enough. He took his hands to Caroline(Jade)’s shoulders and grabbed them. She flinched.
Tobias: “[I am only but a man, and I only have so much resolve. Now, join me, you American minx.]”
Caroline(Jade) smiled in response, as if this had all been a game to her which, in a way, it had been. She was not strictly being herself, nor being Jade, but playing the role of a teenage girl on vacation in a foreign land, where she could engage in activities like this without consequences. Her judgement was clouded, inebriated, yet there was no stopping her now.
With the dick already before her, Caroline(Jade) did not even bother going to the bed, choosing to simply get on her knees and start sucking the dick before her. The sweetness that danced across her mouth from her pineapple cocktail was immediately replaced with a terse pungent taste that both woke her up and eased her at the same time. Despite having learned the art under less than pleasant circumstances, she knew what to do, knew how to titillate a cock in her mouth, and proceeded to do just that. She rubbed her tongue along its underside, played with its head, and used the roof of her mouth as a tool in and of itself.
The machinations of another mouth were clear from eating, or even talking, in another body, yet such nuances were far from her mind as she fell into a mental groove, pushing in, out, and occasionally looking up at her partner. He wore an expression of awe and elation, gripping the counter as he was fellated for what was probably the first time in his short life. His mutterings grew in strength and volume, eventually becoming a shout as he reached his inevitable climax.
A burst of bitter and salty goop rushed through Caroline(Jade)’s mouth as Tobias unleashed his load, and she was… surprised by how it took. She swallowed, but the heat and intensity of the flavor stung in her mouth, coughing as she spat out drops of cum. Tobias, recognizing this, handed her the drink he prepared, which she promptly chugged down, replacing the bitterness of cum with something that tasted like cherry-flavored medicine.
Tobias: “[S-So sorry about that, Jade. I… I should have—]”
Before Tobias could finish his sentence, Caroline(Jade) rose to plant another kiss on his lips. His reservations disappeared a moment later, and his expression shifted, regaining his confidence.
Tobias: “[It seems you want to keep going.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[I’m pretty sure you do too.]”
The next thing Caroline(Jade) knew, she was on her back, in the hotel bed, specifically the one Jade(Caroline) had claimed as her own. She looked up to see Tobias, digging through his shorts for a condom, putting it on his dick before turning to face Caroline(Jade). His face was sweaty, breathing was heavy, and his sexual experience was coming into question. Yet that did not dissuade Caroline(Jade), who spread her legs, inviting Tobias, who took the invitation.
He slammed his dick into her like an over-eager teenager, and her back arched as a shock coursed through her spine. A guttural groan escaped a second later, and it was followed with rampant thrusting— the kind that was powered by horny brain, but driven by a drunk teenager. Too rough, too fast, and with the rhythm of someone both elated and afraid. Caroline(Jade) might have been drunk, but this was not up to her standards.
Caroline(Jade): “[Y-You’re doing it wrong. Get on your back and let me show you how to do it!]”
Tobias heeded what his partner said, almost desperate for directions, and turned over, his dick skyward, if slightly off-centered. Caroline(Jade) saw her target… and took it. Within her mind, even through a haze of drunkenness, she knew what to do. How to handle a cock like this.
Caroline(Jade) proceeded to ride Tobias, dominate him, and leave him gasping for air as he was left in awe of her sexual prowess. He groaned, begged, and called her name as she worked her magic, while she was forced to work with new equipment. Masturbation is a lot different from sex, and Caroline(Jade) did not have the body she was used to. Her tits barely bounced, and she didn’t have an ass to shake as she bobbed up and down Tobias’s dick.
Yet, she knew the little things that would make a man wild. She knew the angles to pursue, how to press her pussy around a dick, and how to conduct herself, creating a treat for the man. And even without looking at his face, she could tell he appreciated what she was delivering. Her ravenous wiggles, chipper moans, and the way she threw herself at her partner. She had learned how to fuck with Bryce, learned how to make love with Reyn, and in this state, divorced from her boy, from her true lover, she fell on the latter.
She was primed, ready to keep this going… only for Tobias to finish after a few minutes. The heat of his cum spread through the condom as it bubbled up with semen, narrowly skipping Caroline(Jade)’s pussy before the awkward shape pushed her away. With a sigh, she laid next to her partner, placing an arm over his chest.
Caroline(Jade): “[Aw, did you choke up there in the end.]”
Tobias: “[W-Was that even choking? I feel like I had the life drained out of me. A-Are you a succubus or something?]”
Caroline(Jade): “[No, but I have a good 18 years of experience handling cock.]”
Tobias did not comprehend what she was saying, yet nervously laughed anyway.
Tobias: “[You… you’re a real firecracker, you know that, Jade?]”
Caroline(Jade): “[Heh. Nobody’s ever called me that before, but… I guess I do feel like one right… now.]”
With that final line, Caroline(Jade) fell asleep. Alcohol, dancing, and sex had drained the energy from her, and she was out like a light. Tobias soon followed, tying off his condom, turning off a bedside lamp, and wrapping an arm around her before hoisting up the sheets. They rested in this darkness, both stinking of booze and sweat, yet truly and deeply satisfied.
However, within this darkness, there was a faint light. Not from some lingering electronic, but a figure cast off in the corner of the room. A pair of faint cyan lights, looking towards the two. As if… watching them.
Part 6: Jade and Caroline’s Rude Awakening
Date: Tuesday, July 14, 2015
Time: 07:28 CEST (Central European Summer Time)
Location: Vienna, Austria
The morning sun shining into her face was the first thing Jade(Caroline) saw as she crept open her eyes. She was tired, wishing to go back to sleep despite the sun’s insistence. Her head was aching, and her body felt sore from… something she could not remember.
Jade(Caroline): “[Mother ‘Jade,’ are you there? What time is it?]”
She was met with no answer, and groaned, opening her eyes enough to look at the walls… and realize she was not in her hotel room. She woke up for real after that, looking around at a bedroom she did not recognize. This wasn’t the hotel, and… why was she naked? She had of course seen her mother’s naked body. She had to shower, but the sight still pushed her out of bed.
Looking around, looking down, she saw what she identified as her clothes. The bra, panty, top, and skirt, all clumsily folded and… then she remembered. Stefan, the dinner, the trek to his apartment and… if she was naked, it had to be that she…
Jade(Caroline): “Oh fuck. What did I do last night?”
She wasted no time throwing on her clothes, not caring if she was dressed properly, not caring that everything about her carried a distinct musky smell. She wandered out, into the rest of the apartment, creeping past two seemingly empty bedrooms, only to pass by the kitchen, where a familiar man was frying up some eggs while munching on an apple. Of course, it was Stefan. This was his house, and Jade(Caroline) had sex with him however many hours ago.
Stefan: “[Good morning, Caroline. I have to thank you for last night, it was truly the best night I’ve had in two years. Can I interest you in anything for breakfast? Eggs always help me when I’m hungover.]”
His chipper disposition contrasted the dire look on Jade(Caroline)’s face, looking as if she had just stepped in from another reality.
Caroline(Jade): “[I… I had sex with you last night, didn’t I?]”
Stefan: “[Yes, and you were magnificent. I hope I was at least decent. Hahaha!]”
“No,” Jade(Caroline) thought to herself. “There’s no way I just fucked someone as my own mother!”
Caroline(Jade): “[Stefan, you’re… you’re a great guy, but I need to leave. I… I’m sorry!]”
Grabbing her heels and purse, Caroline(Jade) ran away. Stefan called her name, chasing her up to his door frame… before swiftly relenting.
Stefan: “[…It was never going to last, Stefan. …Be happy that it happened, because it was never going to be anything more.]”
Caroline(Jade): “[OH FUCK ME!]”
Back in the hotel room, Caroline(Jade) woke up to the sight of Tobias opening up the door. He must have woken up early given how his hair was wet, he was dressed, and had a plate of complimentary hotel breakfast in each hand. It was a gentlemanly gesture… but that was not what Caroline(Jade) wanted. She wanted to disappear.
Tobias: “[Uh, are you alright Jade? I… I know you might not have expected the night to go this way, but you—]”
Caroline(Jade): “[I just had sex in my daughter’s body ‘with a man I just met!’ Wait, no, that’s… GAH! I can’t believe I could be so STUPID! I’m a mother ‘an adult,’ and I…]”
Despite aggressively ruffling her hands through her hair, Caroline(Jade) did not feel any better. She was hungover, full of regret, and incapable of expressing her rage in any way this kind young man could understand.
Tobias: “[I think I understand. You lost control and did not want to go all the way with me? You could have fooled me, but if you—]”
Caroline(Jade): “[No, you dumbass, it’s… It’s a complicated American thing you wouldn’t understand. I… you’re a great guy, but… could you please leave? I… I need to be alone now.]”
Tobias: “[Sure thing, Jade. And remember, you added me on your socials. If you ever want to talk, I’m all ears.]”
A twisted expression demonstrated Caroline(Jade)’s confusion more than language could. Before she could come up with a retort, Tobias grabbed his phone and left, saying one final goodbye and an apology before leaving her be. Alone, hungover, smelling of sex, in a bed that had a damn puddle of discharge where she laid.
Caroline(Jade) was mad— pissed— at what she had done, and began storming around the apartment, muttering obscenities and disparaging words to herself in both English and German before… crying. She broke down into a ball, sobbing into her daughter’s knees, awash with emotions, assaulted by prime teenage hormones, before realizing something. Jade(Caroline)… wasn’t here. She was gone and, if that were the case… maybe she could hide this. She bit her tongue at this thought, yet… saw it as the best option.
With a growl, Caroline(Jade) ran to the shower, desperate to clear her head and get the smell of sex and booze off of her person.
Despite being so early, the streets of Vienna had already sprung to life, with people walking about, heading to work, the shops, or whatever destination they had in mind. Some were groggy, some were chipper, but there were not too many people who looked quite like Jade(Caroline). Her hair was a mess, skirt was on crooked, and even her turtleneck top was scrunched up in a less than attractive way. Despite this, she was hoofing it as fast as she could in heels, her phone guiding her to her hotel.
Her mind ran faster than she did, replaying the events of last night in all their murky glory as she tried to decipher if she liked or disliked what happened. A hungover mind was not the bastion of clarity she thought it to be though, and as she delved into these hazy recollections of what seemed like a lovely night, she bumped into something. Or, rather, someone.
She did not fall, but her purse did, hitting the brick pavement below, but before she could grab it herself, another arm latched onto it first. She followed the arm and stared in front of her, where she saw a young man. His hair damp, clothes plain, and a faint brown stubble along his face. Jade(Caroline) blinked, he smiled, and she reflexively apologized.
Jade(Caroline): “[S-Sorry about that. I wasn’t looking where I was going and—]”
Tobias: “[It’s okay, nobody got hurt, and we were only slightly delayed. Not a big deal, you know.]”
As Jade(Caroline) looked at this young man, she could not help but find something… familiar about him. Something about his warm smile reminded her of someone. And while his shirt and shorts smelled of sweat and beer, there was something else mixed in there, a smell she felt she knew, intimately. Unfortunately Jade(Caroline) was too frazzled to place it, instead grabbing her purse from his hands.
Jade(Caroline): “[Th-Thank you so much, but I must get going. Goodbye!]”
Tobias: “[Y-Yeah, stay safe.]”
Tobias paused and watched Jade(Caroline) as she turned into another side street, flaring his nostrils as he recollected her smell.
Tobias: “[I think she smelled like… dad’s cologne? And her face was… is she… no, there’s no way.]”
Caroline(Jade): “Okay, okay, I… I just need to hide the evidence. I know that’s stupid, but I cannot tell Jade what I did. But… where is she? What if she got hurt, or… kidnapped? No, that’s… but they might know I have money, and… Will this headache go away?”
Wearing only a towel wrapped around her person, Caroline(Jade) was in the middle of stripping the bed she had sex with Tobias in last night. While a shower might be good for hangovers, it did nothing for the anxiety attack she was in the middle of, struggling to find a good way to hide her mess, let alone keep her thoughts straight. She needed direction, she needed a plan, she needed something… and all she got was the sound of the hotel door opening, revealing Jade(Caroline), looking positively exhausted.
The two immediately stared at each other from across the room. One was in the middle of stripping the bed in a hotel room, the other was coming home in the morning and looked like a wreck. Of the two, the younger looking one was the first to bridge the gap.
Caroline(Jade): “JADE! ‘MOTHER!’ You’re back!”
Despite only wearing a towel, Caroline(Jade) locked Jade(Caroline) in a hug, and she did the same.
Jade(Caroline): “Yes! I’m so sorry about that. Last night did not go exactly as I planned and—”
As she began offering her excuse, Jade(Caroline) looked at the sight before her, the wheels of her brain spinning rapidly as she saw the state of the hotel room. Caroline(Jade) was in a towel, stripping a bed. There were two plates of breakfast brought up here, before she even came back to the hotel. And there was… something on the counter before her. A little rubbery bag that looked to contain a small morsel of something. Something that carried with it a potent scent that seemed to linger in the room overall.
At the same time, Caroline(Jade) smelled the hair and clothes of her daughter turned mother, and found the scents… familiar. Wine, sweat, and the unmistakable aroma of sex. Why was she home late? Why did she smell this way? Well, there was one very easy answer she could reach. She knew what it was. What it had to be. …But she hardly had the moral high ground.
Caroline(Jade): “I can see that you had an eventful night last night.”
Jade(Caroline): “Uh, uh, uh, I… I guess you could say that.”
Caroline(Jade): “I did too, and, well, we don’t necessarily need to share everything about our vacation with each other. If… if you don’t want to say anything, I won’t ask any questions.”
Jade(Caroline): “R-Really? That’s… You know what? That’s probably the best approach.”
Caroline(Jade): “Would you agree that what happened in Austria will stay in Austria?”
Jade(Caroline): “Very much. Now… if you’ll excuse me, I could use a shower. …Or three.”
Plopping her purse down Jade(Caroline) walked into the bathroom to cleanse the scent of sex from her body, while Caroline(Jade) collapsed onto the floor.
Caroline(Jade): “What kind of mother ‘daughter’ am I? …What kind of person am I at this point? …When I get back, I’ll need to ask Verde for some counseling. …Make that a lot of counseling.”
Today would be a long, awkward, and emotionally wrought day, but Caroline(Jade) steeled herself that, in about 24 hours, it would be all over, and they would be back to normal. Well, what passed as normal for her and her daughter.
Gaiden July 14th: Max’s Buff Quest Episode 2.5

Location: Beyond Space and Time
Author’s Note: The following segment functions as both a continuation of Maxxie’s storyline in Verde’s Doohickey 2.0: Sensational Summer Romp – Act 3 and a continuation of Nari’s Log, a 2013 novella series that never received a proper conclusion. If you would like to learn more about Nari’s Log, please read Volume 06 of The Saga of Vincent Dawn.
Following the climax of a night full of dinner, dancing, and sex— so much sex— in the meticulous furnishings of Sky Trigger University, Maximillion Flare found herself lying on the floor, face embedded in a shag carpet. The air was warm, not uncomfortably so, and as she moved around, she could tell she was at least somewhat dressed. Her newly 8 inch penis was wrapped in a pair of purple trunks that she certainly did not wear before falling asleep with Alternate Future Jad’s dick in her ass. Her hair was back to its usual black, and with her muscles no worse for wear, she swiftly hopped off of the carpet and looked over her surroundings.
It looked like a rumpus room, straight out of the 1970s, with wood panel walls, a well-worn snag carpet, a vending machine for some reason, and a suspiciously contemporary widescreen television embedded on the wall. Aside from a garishly colored purple sofa— which was more 80s than 70s— the room was bereft of other furniture, but that was not the first thing that captured Maximillion’s eyes as she did a 360 looksie of the room. The decorum implied it was a basement, but the plentiful windows on the walls revealed saw dark skies with a scattering of vibrant lights. The fact they were on both sides of the room was suspicious, as was the fact it was decidedly narrow, likely not even 5 meters across. However, this suspicious decorum was not-so-suspicious based on how she’s spent her past… however long on her quest to get a buff man bod.
Still, she was curious by nature, and looked out the window with suspicion, trying to find some clue as to where she was supposed to be. Maybe some buildings or something would help. Instead, what she saw was a vast expanse devoid of buildings, devoid of even ground, and devoid of what one would even consider stars.
They looked more like marbles than anything. Giant ones, ones with a glistening glass-like body and a radiant spectrum of colors, ranging from imposing solid colors to condensed rainbows that seemed to shift in hue every second. All emitted their own light in a dark expanse, practically calling people to come near and see what splendor they had to offer.
How they were floating about was a pertinent question. The entire sight was enough to draw a “what the fuck” from Maximillion’s mouth, yet she continued to investigate, pressing her face against the glass before her as she tried to see what sort of structure she was in. As she saw a yellowish glow emit from the structure containing her, she first thought she was in a yellow submarine. That would explain how these things were floating. Nobody knows what really lurks at the bottom of the ocean, and this made as much sense as whatever she could imagine.
Further smooshing of her face revealed that, no, this was no submarine, but rather a locomotive. A Steam train. A vintage train that was colored a radiant gold, so immaculate it glowed.
Maximillion: “You know what? At this point why not? Why not just put me into a golden space train flying through the stars?! Besides, it’s not like that’s even an original concept. Galaxy Express 999 called, and they want their ish back, pronto!”
As she finished her snarky comment, Maximillion groaned, realizing that she was indeed alone, at least in this car. She paused as she considered which direction she could go, trying to feel which direction the train was moving, but… it wasn’t. The train was stationary, in space, without a station in sight. Even more confused, she grabbed the handle on a metal door leading out in one direction, hoping that it would be the one, and she was met with the resistance of a cold metallic lock. For a brief moment, she considered powering up to show this door who was boss… but that would be a bad idea even if she wasn’t in space.
With one door a bust, Maximillion went through the other, hoping this door would be more agreeable, and it was, granting her direct access to another train car. This one looked positively antiquated, perhaps even Victorian, and led to a narrow hallway with rooms on one side. Opening them revealed simple lodgings of a bed, cabinet, and shelves, but nothing substantial or flashy. It was a sleeper car, and not really a luxurious one.
Every room looked the same, barring the belongings featured in them, but Maximillion did not dawdle with such things. She was not an adventure game protagonist. Instead, she made her way to the next car of the train, hoping to find someone— anyone— and she immediately did.
Opening the door revealed a room of cluttered electronics covering one wall, a deluge of screens, and a scattering of colorful lights. The lighting was fairly dim, and it would almost look intimidating if not for the fact there were four people plopped onto a sofa, laughing while watching a television.
The first person was a young woman, about college-aged, with mid-back length black hair, a brown complexion, and unusual yellow eyes. She was wearing a sky blue baby doll tee and a pair of yellow shorts that wrapped around her bottom, emphasizing some of her chubbier features, though she was not what any sane person would call fat.
The second was a young man who looked remarkably similar to the woman next to him. He had the same skin tone, same eyes, just shorter hair, a slightly taller stature, and a bit more of a gut. As for clothing, he was dressed in a black T-shirt, bright white pants, and a pair of dark boots, none of which looked to fit him properly, being a bit too snug for comfort by typical standards.
Person number three represented a notable pivot, as she did not appear to be human. Instead, she looked more like a dark elf of all things. As an elf, it was hard for human eyes to peg her age, but she looked young, spirited, and comparable to the people to her left. Her skin was a dark blue, eyes were a bright violet that almost glowed, wavy white hair flowed down to her shoulders, and her figure was rather demure despite her stature, being about as tall as Maximillion. With her attire of a green tunic, brown long-sleeve shirt, and a pair of dark brown boots, she was a floppy sock hat away from cosplaying as Link from The Legend of Zelda.
The fourth person was, by far, the most eccentric of the merry bunch, as they clearly weren’t human, and were merely something in a humanoid shape. They appeared to be a person made entirely out of water, arranged in the mold of a young girl, maybe 11-years-old, wearing what looked to be a sundress. It was like looking at a person who had the wrong texture applied to their character model. They had two eyes, a nose, ears, and even hair, but every part of their person was made of water. The water had a blue tint to it, even accounting for the dim lighting of this room, but how this person, or perhaps thing, was alive and moving was a perfectly reasonable question.
Floating dildos and talking dinosaurs are at least tangible solids. This was a different spore of madness.
Right as Maximillion made her entrance, the four immediately stopped what they were doing and stared at her and her buff exposed chest. Clearly, they were not expecting her to just waltz in like this, then the brown-skinned young woman stood up and started shouting.
Brown-Skinned Girl: “Who the hecking heckerum are you supposed to be? And how’d you get on our train?”
Maximillion: “I dunno, dude. I just sort of woke up here.”
Dark Elf Girl: “R-Really?”
Brown-Skinned Boy: “A likely story! Tell me— you sexy man varmint, what name do you call your own?”
Maximillion: “Uh, I’m going by Maximillion these days. Full name, Maximillion Alpha Flare. Pretty appropriate, wouldn’t you say?”
Choosing to act as she looked— like a cocky muscly dude— Maximillion then flexed her muscles to the small audience before her, who all looked positively “weak” by comparison.
Brown-Skinned Girl: “Suspicious. We have a fellow Max in our midst!”
Brown-Skinned Boy: “Indeed, my half of a whole. But at least his name is not Maxxisaurus. That would be a—”
Maximillion: “Hold up, you two are Maxxisauruses? So that’s why I’m here!”
The brown-skinned twins then looked at Maximillion in dismay, holding onto each other’s hand as they looked her over once more, both paying particular attention to the telling fold in her trunks. Clearly, this first encounter was not going particularly well, but the silent little girl made of water attempted to mend this communication issue, hopping off of the couch and approaching Maximillion with her hand outstretched.
Girl Made of Water: “Name game! Name game! Hi Maximillion. My name’s Raiyne Biscuit, and these are my Mama and Papa. Their names are Maxxi Biscuit and Max Biscuit! And the elf lady is my auntie. Her name’s Y’vonne! Just Y’vonne!”
Maximillion grinned ear-to-ear as this small child innocently mended the communication snafu in the most direct manner possible. To express her gratitude, she bent down to the child’s level and shook her hand, gently but firmly.
Maximillion: “Thanks, uh, Raiyne. Haven’t heard that name in a solid minute, and it’s weird to name a water girl that, but my true name is Maxxisaurus, so I’m not one to judge.”
Acting with a maternal swiftness, the other Maxxi plucked Raiyne away and the other Max shielded them with his body.
Max Biscuit: “Nu-uh, this is WAY past suspicious! You just show up and say you’re us when you barely look like us? I don’t buy it! Not even for a shilling!”
Sighing, the dark elf girl, Y’vonne, placed a hand on Max’s shoulder and gently moved him aside to speak to Maximillion through this narrow hallway of a room.
Y’vonne: “I do apologize for the Maxxies. They can be a bit much, and we have all been going a little stir-crazy as of late.”
Maximillion: “Yeah, maybe you can explain your thing before I explain my thing.”
Y’vonne: “That may be easier, yes. You appear to have found yourself here abruptly and unexpectedly, so let me explain from the top. You are on board the Omnibahn, a train with the capability of exploring the Omni. Do you… do you know what that is?”
Rather than answer verbally, Maximillion merely shrugged in confusion.
Y’vonne: “Very well. The Omni is a transdimensional realm that connects disparate universes together. It is inaccessible to most, and the only vessel to ever breach the Omni is the Omnibahn, the train we are currently residing in. Myself, Maxxi, and Max are special individuals known as Shifters. We have some sort of natural ability that, through the power of the Omnibahn, allows us to transfer our consciousness across the Omni into the bodies of other people, who we call our Hosts. We cannot control who our Hosts are or when we Shift, but it’s something we have experienced dozens of times at the behest of our leader, the Doctor. …Is this all making sense to you?”
Maximillion: “Uh, yeah? It sounds like someone squished Doctor Who and Quantum Leap together in one wet package, but I can follow along.”
The dark elf-looking girl let out a sigh of relief, as if she was expecting Maximillion to have a panic attack, or worse, a jock attack.
Y’vonne: “G-Good! This was our way of life for quite some time, but that all changed after… he arrived. A man named Nari was brought into our group, and he did not get along with us very well. We tried to be hospitable, to entertain him, and he did genuinely try during our Shifts. However, he always clashed with the Doctor, always seemed annoyed to be around us, and ended each interim between our Shifts by storming off into his room. We tried to help him out, to entertain him, but with few memories from his past life, he struggled to find his place. Then, one day, after we were just starting to get to know him, after we shared just four Shifts with him, he vanished. His body disappeared from his room and the Doctor, who would always talk to us in the rec room, two rooms down, stopped showing up on his screen.”
Raiyne Biscuit: “That was… uh, over 2,000 hours ago!”
Max Biscuit: “Raiyne, don’t talk to strangers! They are full of potential danger!”
Maxxi Biscuit: “We’ve spent three months here just hanging out, doing whatever, and today we were playing some retro games to bide the time. We can do anything we can imagine, but sometimes video games are the most fun thing!”
Curious as to what games these “Shifters” were talking about, Maximillion looked at the CRT television they were using and quickly pegged the game as Fortune Street. A capitalist multiplayer management virtual board game that doubled as a crossover between Super Mario and Dragon Quest. The game was released for the Wii in 2011— less than four full years ago— so definitely not a “retro game” circa 2015. However, as someone who just came from the 23rd century, Maximillion was not about to cut hairs over such things. Time was illmatic anyhow.
Maximillion: “Huh. So, you guys have been chilling here for about, uh… three months because this Doctor guy just up and left?”
Y’vonne: “Unfortunately. We have an unlimited amount of resources, and are functionally immortal, but I would like to get back to Shifting sooner than later.”
Maxxi Biscuit: “And the fact we’ve been drifting— aimlessly— for so long, and then you show up… How are we supposed to interpret that as anything other than a threat? Maximillion, if that is your real name, explain yourself to us, and make it snappy!”
Taking a sigh, Maximillion then proceeded to give the four before her the long version of events. Explaining the body swapper she got access to, the fact that she was sent on a quest to prove herself as a man to get a bigger penis, how she went to the future, but the story screeched to a halt when she uttered one special name.
Maxxi Biscuit & Max Biscuit: “XANDY? You know Xandy? He’s, like, our dad!”
Maximillion: “It’s impressive how well you two can speak like that…”
Maxxi Biscuit & Max Biscuit: “That’s because we used to be the same person— then we split in two!”
That comment confused Maximillion, but she’s heard sillier justifications for twins to exist in fiction.
Y’vonne: “If I am following all of this right, it appears that Xandy may have sent you here to fight Max and Maxxi so you could get, uh, ‘a really large penis.’ I do not see the correlation between these things, but… I tend to just accept things as they happen. It is easier in the long-term.”
Maxxi Biscuit: “Eh, so you want to fight us?”
Max Biscuit: “Well, I think the winner’s pretty obvious if you wanna keep it traditional.”
Y’vonne: “I have always liked to think that the Omnibahn is a bastion of civility and peace, away from the hectic nature of our Shifts—”
Maxxi Biscuit: “What about when I gave birth to Raiyne?”
Max Biscuit: “And when we became those floating mask constructs for that play we put on for Raiyne?”
Maxxi Biscuit: “And when I split into Max and Maxxi while you became Josef“
Max Biscuit: “Weird stuff happens here…”
Maxxi Biscuit & Max Biscuit: “ALL THE TIME! And that’s how we like it!”
The Max and Maxxi duo punctuated their comment with a deluge of laughter, much to the irritation of Y’vonne and confusion of Maximillion.
Y’vonne: “Well, those were the exception after we tried to integrate Nari into—”
Raiyne Biscuit: “Mama, Papa, I want to see you fight this buff fake daddy and beat him up, beat him right!”
Maximillion: “Huh. For a bunch of water, you’re awfully fiery, kid.”
That comment, for whatever reason, appeared to rub Raiyne the wrong way, leading her to puff up her watery cheeks and… appear to simmer, if not boil. How she, a girl made of water, could cause herself to boil was anyone’s guess, and Maximillion wasn’t inclined to make any.
Maximillion: “So, uh, how are we gonna fight? Let’s just say, I need some room or else things might get messy.”
Moving in perfect synchronicity, the Biscuits pondered, looking at one another before snapping their fingers as they reached a conclusion through glances alone.
Max Biscuit: “No problemo!”
Maxxi Biscuit: “On the Omnibahn, we can do everything and anything!”
Max Biscuit: “So whipping up a battle arena will be a cinch!”
Maxxi Biscuit: “Let’s head out to the next door and…”
Max Biscuit: “With the powerhouse of our imagination…”
Maxxi Biscuit & Max Biscuit: “WE’LL GET THIS PARTY STARTED!”

Storming through the rest of this cluttered train car full of tech, Max, Maxxi, and Raiyne Biscuit swung open the door and, through powers unknowable, caused it to open and reveal a souped up sci-fi looking battle area. It consisted of bright overhead lights, a large square arena made up of white tiles, and a holographic cage to lock the fighters into the arena. There were benches on all sides, two doors that would let the contestants in and out, and what looked to be a control panels on the metal walls. However, the most notable thing about this arena was how it was definitely bigger and wider than anything a train car could possibly fit.
Maximillion: “Damn, this place really is a Tardis.”
Raiyne Biscuit: “Hey! This place isn’t a turd!”
Maximillion: “That’s not what I said. Tar-dis. It’s a reference to… never mind.”
Rather than try to explain a pop culture reference to a water critter child, Maximillion instead stepped up to the arena, ready to step in and merely awaiting her first challenger.
Maximillion: “So, whose ass am I impounding first? I don’t have anything against you guys, but I know I can get pretty aggro when in the zone, so don’t be scared to throw in the towel.”
Max Biscuit: “Ugh, you speak like a true brute! As the TRUE Maxxisaurus, we shall deal with you in our own special way.”
Maxxi Biscuit: “Why beat you with strength, when we can beat you with something better?”
Max Biscuit: “For the power of our imagination…”
Maxxi Biscuit & Max Biscuit: “Is to the MAX!”
Maximillion: “Heh. Okay, that was funny the first few times, but you can have too much of a good thing, y’know? Just get in the box and show me what you’re made of!”
Brimming with confidence that her victory was absolute, Maximillion passed through the holographic barrier of this arena, standing in the center of the arena with her arms crossed, looking like a boss character from a fighting game. Max Biscuit, by comparison, looked like some dude from the streets who was called in for an exhibition match, looking around shifty-eyed as the girls in the audience cheered him on.
Maxxi Biscuit: “C’mon bro-self, you’ve got this!”
Raiyne Biscuit: “Papa, Papa, go fight on, if you can’t win then Mama can!”
Y’vonne: “P-Please don’t strain yourself too hard. We’re really just doing this as a favor to this guy.”
The two fighters drew near, Maximillion threw out her hand for a shake and, with some hesitation, Max Biscuit shook it before stepping back, looking uneasy in his boots.
Maxxi Biscuit: “Fighters ready? Then let’s go! You can’t escape from crossing fate!“
With that odd reference thrown out, Maximillion began by adopting the right stance, holding back her enhanced strength until she needed it. After all, Max Biscuit did not look like he could take more than a few hits. She did not want to rush him down into a corner— that would be a shitty move— so she waited for Biscuit to make his move. …And what a move it was.
Rather than do any traditional fighting move or attack, Max Biscuit instead held his hands forward, did a calming breathing exercise and transformed his body. His skin rose in volume and saturation from a Desi brown to a bright orange, while he shape-shifted from that of a human to that of… of a ball. Through a transformation as swift as it was baffling, his clothes, arms, legs, and head all condensed into a perfect sphere with a flat, almost matte, finish that rested on the floor, remaining static as Maximillion’s mind tried to comprehend a technique like this.
Maximillion: “Uh… ball mode? Is this supposed to be a morph ball reference or something?”
Truthfully, the ball was far bigger than Samus’s morph ball from Metroid. It was closer to the size of a yoga ball or one of those hoppity hop balls that children had been bouncing upon for decades. Still, Maximillion lowered her guard as she saw this ball… only for it to thrust itself at her. Trained reflexes caused her fist to lurch forward, immediately striking this ball and ending its advancement. It instead slammed into the wall in front of Maximillion, where it seamlessly split into two.
Recognizing the problems of a direct attack, Maximillion then attempted to defend, blocking the twin orange balls as they slammed into her arms, hoping that she could simply prevent them from further dividing. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The balls split on contact with her, the two turning into four, and the four bouncing off of the walls, deliberately directing themselves back toward Maximillion. She blocked them again, swiping the balls away like she was playing dodgeball, but that did not help her for more than a second. Four became eight, and with every attempt she made to manage these balls, they multiplied by two.
She then tried to grab them, to prevent them from spreading by planting them down on the ground, but the ball immediately threw itself at Maximillion the moment she let it down. She tried to use balls to deflect each other, but as the balls made contact with themselves, they split. Two colliding balls would become four, and the more balls there were, the higher chance there was of balls colliding with each other.
It rapidly became untenable to keep track of how many balls were before Maximillion, let alone how to block them. They were too small to be properly blocked, and as thy grew smaller, they also grew faster, pelting Maximillion’s body with a force that was maybe half as strong as a plastic pellet gun. One wasn’t so bad, but getting hit by a dozen every five seconds? Even with her superhuman strength, it still bloody hurt. She felt bruises develop over her back, chest, arms, legs, and even face as this onslaught continued, without any obvious way to counter this with her fists alone.
Maximillion: “Damn it! I thought this would be easy, but you just had to play dirty. Guess I’ll need to show you what I can really do!”
With her conviction steeled, Maximillion harnessed the power within herself, grunting as she forced it to rise to the precipice and billow across her being. She went further, beyond the first and second stage of her power, all the way to her current maximum. A mighty roar released from her mouth as she elevated past her standard form and into her advanced form. Her black hair became shimmering and golden, her muscles grew in size and strength, and her entire body radiated a yellow aura. She has achieved the form she gained after defeating Famaxxie at Sky Trigger University, not that the onslaught of balls seemed to care. They kept bouncing, pelting her, but as they made impact on her form, they failed to so much as damage her.
Maximillion: “Heh. You’re dealing with Super Maximillion, and with my impeccable aura, you’re toast… with no butter!”
The aura surrounding Maximillion’s body then began to grow with energy, an energy so vast that it would bring harm to all who dared to make contact… tiny little balls included. As the balls attempted to strike Maximillion’s body, the yellow aura burned them to nothingness, preventing them from bouncing back at her, let alone multiplying. The balls still tried to make contact, but the hundreds that had accumulated were met with the same fate. That is, until there was only one single orange ball left, resting at Maximillion’s feet, squeezing itself into the tiled floor. Maximillion receded her aura and picked up the ball, examining it within her finger and thumb, ready to squish it like a bug.
Immediately before Maximillion could attempt this, the orange ball rapidly grew, developing a volume comparable to its original form and just as quickly reverting back to the human form of Max Biscuit. He fell to the ground, still wearing the same clothes he had at the start of the battle, and looking absolutely spent.
Max Biscuit: “Ugh… I… I thought I had a good strategy there.”
Maximillion: “You did. If I didn’t have my current powers, I would’ve been screwed. How did you expect me to beat that?”
Max Biscuit: “I… did… not. I thought there was no way some gym rat like you could possibly defeat the power of 1024 balls!”
Maximillion: “Normally you’d be right, but not here! Now gimme your marble! Barf her up!”
Max Biscuit: “Huh? What’re you talking ab— blech.”
On command, Max Biscuit spit up a green marble into his hand. He looked at it bemused, wondering how a marble just happened to get into his stomach, before Maximillion snagged it from his hand and plopped it down her throat. A gulp and a flex of her gut was all she needed before she felt the power of the green marble swelling within her stomach, ready to be unleashed.
Maximillion: “You really should leave the arena. This could get ugly.”
More confused than anything, Max Biscuit fumbled out of the arena, sliding through the holographic barrier after it was de-solidified, and nodding to Y’vonne to turn it back on from the control panel. A second later after the hologram was hardened, Maximillion began to ascend to a new form.
Her muscles grew with a renewed strength, spiky hair stood on all ends as it color shifted from a golden yellow to an emerald green, and her shouting was so loud, so intense, that the audience members blocked their ears. With the area so contained and, relatively, small, there was no dust to send flying, but the sheer flexing of this power was enough to crack several of the white tiles lining the floor, the damage only ceasing once Maximillion had reached her latest stage. Super Maximillion (Green Version).
Compared to the prior upgrades she underwent, the transformation was minor, if not underwhelming. She had not just broken a precipice, nor did she skip an upgrade. From the audience’s perspective, it was hard to see much of a difference. Even Maximillion seemed underwhelmed, reaching into her trunks with the hope of finding some major improvement, when really there is not much difference between an 8 inch penis and a 9 incher.
Maximillion: “And that’s another upgrade for the books. Maxxi Biscuit, please come down to the arena, so I can whoop your keister!”
Raiyne Biscuit: “NO WAY!”
Turning her head, Maximillion saw that Raiyne Biscuit, the water-based girl critter who was somehow the daughter of Max and Maxxi Biscuit, had already stepped into the arena. She looked at the child, or at least child-shaped, creature with confusion before looking at the audience of three before them.
Maximillion: “Uh, I’m not one to say no to a fight. But do you really want me to fight your daughter?”
Maxxi Biscuit: “If that’s what she wants, it’s what she wants. If sweet baby Raiyne wants to avenge her father’s defeat, who am I to reject her? Go on sweetie! Whoop this brute’s butt!”
Raiyne Biscuit: “Yes, Mama. I won’t let you beat my Papa or Mama when it comes to a battle of imagination!”
Maximillion: “How am I even supposed to fight you if you’re made of water?”
Raiyne Biscuit: “I am a water nymph, and that’s for you to figure out, you big bully!”
Maximillion: “Look, kid. I’m not going around the multiverse beating the snot outta other versions of me because I want to. I’m on a quest, and that just so happens to be the objective. You ain’t part of that objective, so if you could—”
Raiyne Biscuit: “No! I am here to avenge the honor of my father. For the scrolls told ME so!”
Y’vonne: “I told you we shouldn’t have let her watch that Wu-Tang movie…”
Snickering, Maximillion shrugged and stepped forward, staring down at the water nymph before her.
Maximillion: “Alright then, Raiyne. You can try to defeat me, but when comparing my power to yours, there’s no comparison! Prepare to despair!“
Raiyne Biscuit: “Hmph! You got lucky last time, but you’re luck’s all burned up!”
As the attempted trash-talking continued, Y’vonne fiddled with the control panel, sealing the two fighters in the arena.
Maxxi Biscuit: “The daughter seeks revengeance against the interloper from a world unknown. We shall see which soul burns the brightest. Now… get your brawl on!”
Spurred on by the bombastic introduction, the two fighters readied their bout, with Maximillion staying back to see what this water nymph was capable of. She guarded as she expected some sort of trickery from this nonhuman critter… but she did not expect her to just collapse. With one second on the clock, Raiyne Biscuit made like rain and formed a puddle, pouring onto the tiled floor.
Maximillion: “…Uh, is this a technique or something?”
After the past trickery, Maximillion maintained eyes on the floor as the puddle grew, and contemplated firing ki blasts at it, letting one develop in her hand before she thought better of herself. Instead of taking the aggressive approach, she waited as the water spread out, wondering what it could possibly do. Seconds later, Raiyne made her first strike, rising her liquid body above the floor and toward Maximillion, striking her from behind by… striking her behind.
Before she could even see what Raiyne was up to, Maximillion felt something cold and wet shooting up her ass, rushing past her rectum, and invading her intestines. It was water, it was Raiyne, and her stomach began to swell from this sudden influx of water. She tried to seal her asshole— a trait she damn near mastered at this point, yet the water moved too quickly for it to seal the gap.
Maximillion looked down at herself, seeing her upper torso looking as it should, while her lower torso was so full of water she looked pregnant. Her skin stretched in a sharp and unpleasant manner while her innards cried out in pain, reaching capacity. She grunted and fell to the floor as she tried to make sense of this technique, feeling not only the water invading her digestive system, but the unnatural way it moved.
Maximillion: “The fuck is this supposed to be? I thought you were fighting me!”
Y’vonne: “Oh Raiyne, why are you doing this again?”
Maximillion: “EXPLAIN! Now! This isn’t funny! I feel like I’m about to explode!”
Y’vonne: “B-Basically, Raiyne is trying to defeat you by entering your body and hurt you from the inside out. You may be able to fight external threats but—”
Max Biscuit: “Hey! Shut up! No spoiling things!”
Maxxi Biscuit: “Yeah! Max-i-millions here didn’t tell us what he could do, so why should we tell him what our daughter can do?”
Y’vonne: “I’m sorry, but the technique is so unconventional, and I did not want to see him suffer, I just—”
Maximillion: “WHY IS YOUR CHILD INSIDE ME?! …FUCK! That sounded worse than it should’ve…”
The swirling of Raiyne in her guts was enough to make Maximillion feel ill. Human bodies were not made for this type of crap, and with just her hands, there was no way for Maximillion to fight back. …Good thing she didn’t need to fight like a human. The threat was internal, would require something beyond human to deal with, but Maximillion was a fighter of immense caliber, capable of feats that were beyond human, and with her aura powers, with the ki flowing within her, perhaps she could take them on from within, before she made her blow up or whatever Raiyne’s hare brained scheme may be.
So, Maximillion thought as hard as she could have given the circumstances, thinking of how she could look inward and use her powers there, to cleanse her body and dissipate this foreign invader. It had power in its liquid form, the ability to shift and control itself, but would it be able to do so if she were to use heat to change its properties? A girl made of water, that was somewhat plausible. Just a step away from the fantasy staple of a slime girl. But a girl made of steam? Nonsensical! It was a long-shot, based on assumptions above all else, yet what else could she do other than manipulate her gag reflex to expel a whole child’s worth of water from her mouth and ass?
Steeling herself, Maximillion channeled her power, yet rather than express it outward, she looked inward, closing her eyes and feeling what lurked in her guts. A picture appeared in her mind of water gushing through her intestines, acting like it owned the place. Then, the same green energy she was expelling moments ago appeared before its course, blocking it through this one-way path, and firing against it. Her aura was hot, able to burn things and for water, she could turn it into steam. The aura clashed against the water, pushing it away, and burning it up, drop by drop, into steam that harmlessly flowed up into her stomach, through Maximillion’s mouth and nose as she sat, trying to achieve a state of calm and control.
Her guts grumbled in dissatisfaction, wanting to escape, but Maximillion focused her aura on both ends of her digestive track, planting these encroaching hot walls of energy at both ends. Raiyne rumbled in this state, looking for a way out, a way to prevent herself from being burned up, and focused on her body’s temperature. Maximillion groaned in pain as she felt the water within her intestines become colder, siphoning the warmth from her body and trying to crystallize her organs. As a B- Biology student, Maximillion had no idea what the hell this would do, yet she pressed on, growing more aggressive, and embedding the power of her aura through her entire gut, trying to burn away the icy walls taking claim of her intestines and burn away what she could.
Raiyne had a good idea, but just like her father, she underestimated the power of a fighter’s aura, and had locked herself in a failed scenario. She shifted about, creating a wincing pain, yet Maximillion remained steadfast. Raiyne had to escape. No. She had to win. And the only way she could think to get out of this mess… was to go for the kill!
Using every morsel of force her aqueous body could muster, Raiyne pushed past the wall of aura pushing her away and swam into the stomach. The acid barely touched her body as she curved around the lining and up to the esophagus. If she were a cowardly lot, the morsel of her body that passed through could just tug on the uvula before her and force Maximillion to barf up her guts. But she did not. Not when her only remaining path to victory was just a few tubes away.
Traversing upwards, past the nose, and into the deeper parts of Maximillion’s skull, Raiyne approached Maximillion’s brain. The trek had left only a few drops of her form remaining, but if she could manipulate the brain, she could win this battle. …Even if it meant rendering her opponent functionally brain dead. Fearing nothing, Raiyne leapt onto the brainstem, intending on freezing the connection to win this battle via a technicality. It was a twisted way to win, against the spirit of any true warrior, but Raiyne did not tease herself with any such notions. She wanted victory, no matter the cost. Unfortunately for her, she fell into a trap that Maximillion had laid.
The moment that Raiyne had struck Maximillion’s brainstem, she was hit by a surge of energy. Of electricity, arching from the brain, sent through her body, sifting through her. Her miniscule body flailed, fumbling, before losing its grip of the brainstem, falling down from it, and slowly receding from the domain of the brain, drifting out onto Maximillion’s tongue, where she was small enough to be comfortably spat onto the floor.
This small dollop of water began to grow, regenerating itself, drawing in the steam wafting about overhead, and gradually accumulating the volume needed to form a humanoid figure. After nearly a minute of this, Raiyne Biscuit was back to normal, good as new, yet her face told a different story, looking positively mortified.
Maximillion: “You’re a little brat, you know that? What were you even trying to do there? Burst my stomach and then destroy my brain? At least your dad just tried killing me with bouncy balls.”
Raiyne Biscuit: “I… I’m sorry. I just wanted to do a good job and make them proud—”
Maximillion: “You’re lucky I managed to figure out how to use my brain electricity like that! I didn’t even know if it would work, but it did!”
As Maximillion stood up and doled out harsh, loud words, Raiyne’s disposition shattered, and the young girl made of water began to… cry. The mechanics of how someone made entirely of water could shed tears were worth interrogating. However, before Maximillion could do that, let alone try to comfort the crying child, Maxxi Biscuit rushed onto the arena and snatched her daughter.
Maxxi Biscuit: “Oh sweetie, don’t worry, it’s okay. You tried your best-est and Mama is happy that you got so far, yes she is.”
Raiyne was too belabored in sorrow to give an intelligible response, and with her daughter inconsolable, Maxxi handed her off to Max, who shuffled her back to one of the benches surrounding the arena. This left only Maximillion and Maxxi in the arena, and as their eyes locked, the animosity within Maxxi was clear. She was not happy to watch her male half and daughter lost. The phrase “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” popped into Maximillion’s head as she saw how fiery her yellow eyes had become.
Suddenly, Maximillion had doubts about this whole fighting thing, and she looked towards the audience for some sort of hint as to how she could beat Maxxi. Max Biscuit was busy consoling his daughter, while Y’vonne looked at Maximillion with a look that said “you’re probably boned, but I hope you’re not.”
Gaiden July 14th: Max’s Buff Quest Episode 2.7
Date: Irrelevant
Time: Unknowable
Location: Beyond Space and Time
After consoling her daughter, Maxxi Biscuit stood in the arena, staring at Maximillion Flare with fierce yellow eyes of a beast ready— eager— to kill. Maximillion tried to hold a strong stance, tried to play her role as a big man, but it was clear to say she wasn’t feeling that way.
Maximillion: “Hey, uh, sooo… I did not mean to hurt your daughter. I am sorry. And while I kinda, sorta, need to fight you, I don’t need to make it personal or anything, y’know.”
Her words fell on deaf ears, with Maxxi not even flinching.
Maxxi Biscuit: “Y’vonne, double the arena. The dog needs more space for trouble!”
On command, Y’vonne went to the control panel and altered the size of the arena, and with it, the entire room. Everything grew almost twice as long and wide, while the distance between the two locked in this white paneled battle zone doubled.
Maximillion: “The… dog?”
Maxxi Biscuit: “Yes! I may be a human now, but it was always my dream to be a dog. To live a dog’s life, to get impregnated by a dog, and feel the joy of having a litter of little puppers. Don’t you get it? If you really are a Maxxisaurus, you should.”
Maximillion: “…Lady, I’m a furry. I literally own the IP for K.O. Century Beast Warriors. But even I have my limits. Wouldja really want to just be an animal? I can see a week maybe, have an Animorph thing going on, but—”
Cutting off Maximillion, Maxxi Biscuit adopted a far less angry yet even more intense disposition, staring at Maximillion with dead yellow eyes, as if looking past her, as if looking at… everything.
Maxxi Biscuit: “The Doctor was an animal, so I hoped he would understand. Instead, he banned me from becoming a dog, from giving birth to my dog family, and raising them alongside Max.”
Maximillion: “Hold on, so you had sex with yourself and impregnated yourself, so… does that make Raiyne your clone or—”
Maxxi Biscuit: “Yes! That is what makes the birth the most pure and personal, for we can experience it on both end. Paternal, maternal, the two in twain, from two eyes, with one shared heart, soul, and deep down, mind! Does the majesty of our desire not resonate with you?”
Maximillion: “Uh… I think I’m supposed to say yes here and—”
As Maximillion committed this faux pas, Maxxi Biscuit snapped, the fire returning to her eyes twofold and her disposition going from angry to positively unhinged.
Maxxi Biscuit: “LIAR! Liar! Liar! Liar! Liar! PANTY ON FIRE! You are a fake, a fake that must have been sent by Uni! Yes! Of course, it was him! Only he could steal our Nari from us and steal the Doctor! You are just one of his puppets! You… You might even be him. And for that, for daring to hurt my daughter, you shall DIE!”
While Maxxi lacked a visible aura like Maximillion, there was something deeply unpleasant wafting around her body as she shouted like a madwoman. Maximillion adopted a guarding stance, anticipating some ambush attack from her, but instead she dropped her hands to the floor and began to… transform.
The first change began with her skin. Plainly visible through her light choice in attire, her mid-tone brown complexion rapidly became overrun by a torrent of dark hair, poking out from every pore conceivable. Legs became drenched in thick bushes of hair, her arms were lathered with it everywhere beyond her palms, her exposed midriff, her neck. Her clothes themselves became frayed as this hair grew so furiously, tearing off her shirt and shorts. With only her head and palms left visible, with her shoes barely containing her feet, she looked less like a human and more like a werewolf, but more canine features would soon follow.
Then came her hands and legs, shifting as they laid on the ground, Maximillion stared as her fingers receded, thumb all but faded away, and all that remained was a pair of paws, incapable of grabbing something, unable to draw or do any of the many things one would expect of a human. The shoes donning Maxxi’s feet made it harder to tell what was happening to her toes, but as the transformation progressed beyond her sights, the results were clear. Her hands and feet had been completely changed, and her arms and legs came soon after. Their shape defied the standards of humans as elbows and knees lurched forward, backward, and upward. The human traits dissipated, and it became impossible to view her as anything more than a… dog. Then, as she took her first steps with her new limbs, a trail burst beyond the end of her back, its form bushy and movement energetic to say the least.
The only remaining vestige of her humanity was her face, yet Maximillion knew this wasn’t long for this world either. Her jaw caved in on itself as bone was forged through invisible forces, her nose collapsed, and her entire skull twisted as a mighty snout formed. Hot air blared through her newly formed nostrils, the rearranged teeth grew sharped as she craned open her mouth, and the arrangement of her eyes twisted accordingly. Dogs came in every shape and size, but Maxxi had become a proper hound, a dog made for hunting, and with a powerful, optimized figure.
That would make for an intimidating opponent under normal circumstances, yet Maximillion was so fixated on the shape of her opponent that she neglected to notice its size. It stood twice as tall as a typical hound. In fact, it stood taller than even Maximillion’s impressive 183 centimeters, and certainly outweighed her. With sharp claws and sharp teeth, this thing would be an imposing foe for any human fighter. Maximillion began looking for weak points in defeating the Maxxi the hound… but then she started speaking, her voice an octave deeper and of a rougher cadence.
Maxxi the Hound: “Do you fear me? You should! Xandy taught me this technique to defend myself back when I was small and weak, but he gave me another thing to protect myself. My power bone.”
Unleashing a mighty howl, Maxxi the hound summoned something into her mouth. A tube of some sort. It did not quite look like a bone, lacking even the white color as this gray object rested between her sharp teeth. Maximillion stared at this object, expecting something to come of it… and she was right. With a swing of her mouth, the tube was revealed to be the hilt of a sword. A sword so large, immense, and cumbersome there were few if any humans who could wield it, period, let alone with finesse.
The enlarged arena they were in now felt too small for this battle, and with such an imposing weapon, it would be easy for this foe to strike Maximillion down, to pound her into the tile. Maximillion should have been scared. …Yet the testosterone pumping through her blood and ki filling her spirit did just the opposite. She was stoked.
Maximillion: “Oh hell yeah! We went from real fighting to DBZ shit straight to an IRL Dark Souls boss fight. I might not have a sword, but that’s no problem for me! C’mon, you bitch, let’s boogie!”
Before Maximillion could even finish, Maxxi the hound had begun swinging her sword, doing a 180 degree swipe. It was an intimidating display of power, covering such a wide area with enough force to kill a regular person. However, Maximillion was not a regular person. Her hair still stood tall with green level ki, and she expressed her might by deftly sliding under the blade. With the hound committed to her large sweeping movement, Maximillion got a free shot at her face, neck exposed, jaw present, ready for the full power of her fists. She threw her arm back, ready for a pounding uppercut— only for Maxxi to lift a paw from the ground, swiping Maximillion away.
The abrupt impact sent her skimming across the floor, landing back in the middle of the arena. It was only one hit, allowing her to rise up, looking no worse for wear, and scope what her opponent was doing. Maxi the hound was on the offensive, rushing toward Maximillion with her sword ready to swipe. If she dodged and went in for a low strike, she would just be attacked by her paws again. She needed to go the other way if she wanted to strike the hound in her face, and with all the options before her, that one seemed the most effective.
Needing to build space, Maximillion dashed away from the danger, heading toward a wall, and turning to face Maxxi. She was already revving up her next sword slash, but in her haste, she seemed to have forgotten something basic. Swords can’t cut through walls. Maximillion waited for the sword to draw near and jumped toward the wall, kicking off it and aiming for the swinging blade, landing right after it clanged against the solid hologram. Maxxi was dazed, the reverb ringing through her teeth and skeleton, allowing Maximillion to take a few steps on the blade before landing on Maxxi’s snout. Shock painted the hound’s face as she saw her opponent was on top of her, and as she attempted to retaliate, Maximillion landed her first strike, a powerful punch rammed squarely between the eyes. Skin tore, blood sputtered, and a moan of pain escaped Maxxi’s sword-wielding lips.
Recognizing the danger of letting Maximillion wail on her further, Maxxi began to shake her body around, to loosen up Maximillion’s grip. She clamped her bare feet into the fur as some form of insurance, yet she recognized her time was limited. She could only get off one more good hit, and looked at Maxxi’s right eye, the yellow color now making a lot more sense given her wolfdog features. A beast with one eye is that much less of a threat, and with it staring right at her, Maximillion channeled her power into her hand, unleashing a ki fireball at the exposed eye.
Ki fireballs typically did not destroy, they singed, they hurt, yet when fired at such close range, when fired at flesh as sensitive as an eyeball, the results were brutal. Half of the eyeball popped apart, blood and giblets of eye meat splattered onto Maximillion and the arena. The pain was immense, and Maxxi cried in pain, still keeping the sword between her teeth. A twinge of guilt struck Maximillion, but she cast it aside. She was here to fight, every sword swipe could cleave her in two. This was not dirty, it was survival!
Before she could be shaken off, Maximillion leapt off, building space as Maxxi recovered. As a wounded beast with a sword, she did not have a particularly strategic mindset, and ran forward, her swinging even more erratic and her aim clearly impaired. With such limited depth perception, she was operating at a reduced capacity, but as a hound, she still had her powerful nose. That was to be the next target. Maximillion just had to wait for the next slash, dodge it, and plant a good hit right in her snout— fill it up with blood.
It was a simple plan, and with Maxxi’s mind clouded by rage, she fell for it. She swung, Maximillion took advantage of her blind spot and she hopped onto the blade, and kicked her nose as hard as she could. Her nose crumpled, blood bursting from the smooth black flesh, dripping onto the blade and the floor below. The sounds of a giant dog crying once again filled the arena, and cries similarly came from the audience. Y’vonne, Max and Raiyne Biscuit, they were clearly concerned about what Maximillion was doing to their friend, and Maximillion did not feel good about it. This did not feel like a true competition, it felt like beating an emotionally charged animal. An animal who could barely see, could no longer smell, and was relying mostly on sound to examine the world around her.
It was time to wrap this battle up.
Despite the expansion, the center of the battlefield was still damaged from earlier encounters, with broken tiles that could easily be torn off from the floor and thrown elsewhere. Maximillion bent down and threw several, hoping to distract the mostly blind Maxxi and, to her delight, it worked. In her sensory deprived and enraged state, Maxxi started swiping her blade at nothing, allowing Maximillion to deftly walk behind her, narrowing in on her next target: the long bushy trail poking out from her butt. This was the key to defeating her, but despite her immense strength, she needed something more to pick up a 300 kilogram beast like this. So, she focused her power, channeling it into her muscles and causing them to expand in girth, turning her from a veritable muscleman into someone with such extreme muscle density it defied human biology.
Maximillion: “You’ve seen what a Super Saiyan Maximillion could do… now try an Ultra Super Saiyan.”
Her whisper was not unnoticed by Maxxi the hound, yet she clenched her tail well before she could do anything, and once Maximillion’s grip was tightened, it was already over for her. Harnessing the power of over twenty men, Maximillion began to swing the giant hound before her. Even with the added weight of the absurdly large sword in Maxxi’s mouth, Maximillion was able to swing her around like a hammer, around and around, at least a dozen times before finally letting go, allowing Maxxi the hound to fly through the air, slam into a wall, and finally lose her grip on her oversized sword. It flew, about to pierce the arena, until Maximillion grabbed the saliva-coated hilt, narrowly preventing it from touching the ground. The blade had to be over a hundred kilograms, yet with her muscles still robust, she was able to lift it with ease, repositioning it above the wounded hound lying before her.
Maxxi tilted her head at Maximillion, unable to see her with her one good eye, yet able to sense the movements of the sword. She might have been big, but she was too wounded to move. So, she laid there as Maximillion held the sword high and brought it down to Maxxi, aiming squarely for her neck. She did not so much as flinch, seemingly accepted her fate. With that, Maximillion stopped. The sword was a mere inch from Maxxi’s neck, barely touching her fur, and a moment later, it was cast side, crashing onto the floor
Maximillion: “With that, I think I can safely say I’ve won. Sorry if I was being a bit brutish there, but you were the one coming at me with a giant sword. Besides, you said you’re immortal… right?”
After saying that, everything began to settle down. Maximillion scaled back her power, hair shifting from green to black and her muscles going from horrifying to merely incredible. The holographic walls of the arena disappeared from someone meddling with the control panels. Maxxi shrank to the size of a regular dog, retaining only about 25% of her volume. And the arena was stormed by the three in attendance. Y’vonne, Max Biscuit, and Raiyne Biscuit, all rushed over to comfort their beloved dog friend.
Y’vonne: “Maxxi! Just because you can do something like that doesn’t mean you should!”
Raiyne Biscuit: “Papa… is Mama going to be okay?”
Max Biscuit: “Y-Yeah, we just gotta use some Medi-Gel on her. She’ll be good as new.”
Without skipping a beat, Max Biscuit began lathering some tube of goop over Maxxi’s face, rubbing it over her eyes, snout, and any lacerations he could find. It looked just like Vaseline, yet after a few seconds, it had mostly healed her wounds.
Maximillion: “Yeah, s-sorry again for being so rough with her. I just—”
Y’vonne: “She… she was overwhelmed by the stimulation. Please, don’t think of her as a bad person.”
Maximillion: “Uh, I don’t think I do. R-Really, I’ll get out of your hair if you want me to, if Maxxi barfs up her marble. …Unless I only get one. God, that would SUCK if that were the case! All that effort only to—”
Before Maximillion could complain any further, Maxxi the hound spat up a marble, its color a perfect Crayola blue. With zero grace, Maximillion leaned in to grab the marble, holding it high, smiling, before plopping it down her gullet.
Maximillion: “Ah, that’s the stuff! Now to wait for it to digest.”
Max Biscuit: “Hmm… I’m still pretty suspicious of what happened, and we do think you might be related to Uni.”
Maximillion: “I hate to break it to you, but I have zero clue what Maxxi was gabbing off about! I don’t know anything about your Omni, your Shifters, or your Uni. I’m just some girl from Oransen, Illinois, and I don’t need to get all mucked up with this sci-fi guff.”
Despite Maximillion thinking that comment was as plain as Jane, the four in front of her all looked on with confused looks, as if she committed a cultural faux pas.
Maxxi Biscuit: “You’re a girl? …You sure don’t look like one to me!”
Somehow hearing that from a talking dog made it sound even more like an insult.
Y’vonne: “Y-Yes. And, I do not mean to be rude, but your behavior is not particularly, uh, feminine, and your choice of dress is—”
Maximillion: “Oops! Yeah, I should’ve clarified that. This is just my guy form. My new guy form. I’m normally a girl, but, uh, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve been one, and it’s prolly affecting how I act to be honest. Hahaha!“
Y’vonne: “W-Well, it’s not like any of us, except for Raiyne, are unfamiliar with a bit of gender bending, I suppose.”
Maxxi Biscuit: “Yeah, and… I’m sorry I lashed out at you. We’ve been cooped up here for months with no idea what’s supposed to be going on, where we are going, or what’s next. I got suspicious, took it out on you, and… the dog is sorry. So, are we good?”
After saying that, Maxxi Biscuit, still in her regular-sized dog form, held out her paw for a handshake. Maximillion smiled at the gesture, bent down, and promptly gave her a firm shake, following it up with a gentle patting of her head.
Raiyne Biscuit: “Hmm… I still don’t like him, erm, her.”
Maximillion: “You tried to do who knows what to my brain, so the feeling is mutual, kid.”
Max Biscuit: “I’ll take the blame for her. Raiyne is still learning how to use her powers, and gets a bit carried away.”
Y’vonne: “As for me, I… am not exactly fond of these uninvited bouts of excitement, and think I need to lie down.”
Normally would be when the marble does its stuff and causes Maximillion to transform. Yet, before she could gain her new power and extra inch of penis meat, she found herself disappearing.
Maximillion: “Well, this is new. Guess this is goodbye for me, guys. I hope your Doctor friend comes back, and you can get back to doing that whole Shifting thing. As for me… I’ve got a tournament to attend. Sayonara~!”
With that final goodbye, Maximillion faded away from the four residents of the Omnibahn, along with their mysteries. While the fate of their former companion, Nari, had been etched into the annals of history, what happened to the Doctor and what future lied for them were both unknowns that may, or may never, be answered.
