0PGOS Homosexuality man romance gayLet’s see… how can I alienate everybody before I get around to my stupid recounting of video game news… I think Final Fantasy XV would more more interesting if it, well, did a number of things, but just went out and said that the four main characters who are dressed like K-pop idols were all gay, and had sex with each other on the regular. And in order to make sure not skirts dare infest their manly game where you mash buttons to do a very nice buff supplying anal, make them the subset of gay men who think that women are only good for making more gay men and more women that can be made pregnant using their glorious manly cum. 0 GUP Let's Do This And Go Home. GrumbleI am not in the mood to write an intro right now. I am hindered from a lack of sleep, am finishing up this semester of school, and am trying to get myself to edit A Vile Doohickey, when I keep on searching for distractions. I’ll edit chapter five after this goes public, so… here is an unimportant blurb about two mid-sized events in the video game industry.

Despair

So, I’ve got some news to share about my upcoming Novella, as opposed to a novel that is three novellas sticked together. It is a little story of mine I dub The Vile Doohickey, which involves a group of teenage friends who find a body swapping remote. The story will come out this year, as I almost done with the final chapter, but need to edit afterwards. I am also looking into making a visual novel, but don’t plan to get started until Winter Break… where I am still working, and am going to need to type up a handbook so Santa can bring me an Nvidia GTX 970. Regardless, I have at least one more Novella I plan on doing after that, in the form of a tribute very obscure to a Z-tier Manhwa mixed with my favorite character of 2014… Yeah! (more…)

0P4G Free will is for faggots we just be machines that obey creators no desires for ourselfs we dumb shit farters…I actually had two intros prepared for this post, but as the Steam Sales just entered their final day an hour before preparing to post this tiny post and I just bought them, I feel like talking about them. I made out well in terms of the titles I got, but the same cannot be said about my wallet. Sure, my games per dollar ratio was pretty good throughout and I did regain a nice pool of variety before going into the replay bin, but I also ended up cleaning my plate of every PC game released before 2014 that I wanted to purchase and eventually play. It actually felt pretty good to clear out the spreadsheet I made to keep track of them, but it also brought forth the reality that the number of games I want that were released, or will be released in 2014 is massive. 41 titles I have yet to buy, and now my job fueled wallet is looking at lot less bulky.

Fuck E3

It is rather pointless for a little slice of nowhere blog with only a small number of views to do a summarization of the E3 press events, especially when they were not watching them live due to real life events, such as work. But I got home to catch the latter two, and catch up with the former before Nintendo did their event and managed to get everything done before Tuesday’s end… well after everybody and their brother did their own version of this, and often far better than my assorted ramblings that are made all the dumber by the insertion of anime screencaps. It’s Nigmabox’s third annual Super E3 Rundown!

VO Check out my butt in the bathWell, it’s that time of year again, where the sun rises high and slowly creeps over to the other side of the country where magic truly does exist in the form of a corporate PR event that will be jam packed with ice cream pandas and lobster men who will undoubtedly be shot by a bunch of hired apathetic day workers… Sorry, I hit my head again and those words came out. Point it, it is Pre-E3, or Preeee! as one may call it if they started a blog post about video game news by insinuating the sun creates lobster men. And as expected, everybody’s gushing to get their big thing in every lady’s face before the oversaturated extravaganza hits when I’m at work… guess I better get the skeleton ready for me to pin flesh onto it! 0P4G hmhmhm shoo bee doo bee fucking the slits aint got ntohin to be up in the butt cos i be the sex master give me dawg

My Persona 4 Golden review has finally gone gold, meaning I finished and published it for all to judge. But I need to get back into the swing of things and knew I had a busy week coming up, which meant I needed to get something quick played and out of the way. It is Sonic Adventure 2, one of my favorite games as a kid, and a game that is like meeting your old pal from elementary and middle school and seeing that they started doing that Shrinkers, getting their senses all messed up and having their toes fall off. So yes, the game is terrible from a certain standpoint. I also got RPG Maker, and hope to eventually do something with that, but first my second novel’s got to get its rough draft done. Beware Vincent Dawn, as he will literally mold you into a different person. (more…)

KLK Mom Please Stop me from being evil and bad parents control your kids they are wild jojo cosplayersAs of writing this, I am over 30 hours into Persona 4: The Golden Boys, which is an 80-90 hours JRPG made for another 50 hours playthrough, and maybe a 40 hour one following that. I really do wish I decided to play it on very easy, as I would be able to spend a fifth as much time in the dungeons, which I spent 5-7 hours in during one session as it is the most effective means of gaining levels and not needing to worry about the combat. Yet, going into the combat after messing around with social links and high school shenanigans feels like it is from a completely different game. I’m still enjoying it though. (more…)

Chibi-Robo! Review

246116-chibirobo_3_1280x1024A little under a year ago I went and reviewed Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol, a rather delightful game if I recall, but I recall feeling as if it was missing something that the original title had that made it special. Well, despite how I sold the game long, long ago back when I did that with games, I have emulators and decided to give the Dolphin a whirl, which resulted in three games that stuttered like mad, and one that didn’t… for the most part. That game was Chibi-Robo! and, wouldn’t you believe it, I liked it a whole bunch. (more…)

Cult De NigmaWow, I totally forgot I had Nigmabox Rundown’s one year anniversary last installment. To think, I’ve been using pictures from random anime while bitching about video games for a year… well, let’s make it two, as I’ve got at least a hundred more of these in me. Even if it does mean I will need to scrape the bottom of the barrel with things like Flappy Bird, a game that I saw people more or less code back in high school that caused a form of controversy that I quite frankly do not get, mostly due to how I believe the game is, or rather was, free. Is it unoriginal and lazy? Pretty much, but that doesn’t mean it deserves anybody’s attention. Hell, I could… no, actually I couldn’t make it, as I could not program for crap four years ago and sure as sugar cannot now. (more…)

CDI Carrying Random Gorilla of JoySo, I just barely have enough for a post this week, as it is the middle of January and people are still getting back into the swing of things after a holiday break. I do not have enough time to come up with a creative intro, as I’ve been trying to plow through the insanely large Assassin’s Creed IV. 27 hours in and I’m 39% done. I like myself a fine long game, but this is utterly nutterly buttery, Ubisoft. Other than that… screw it, wait for my review of that after Just Cause 2 and Marlow Briggs.

Pokemon X Review

X-male-player-pokemon-x-and-y-male-player-34491121-1280-1024I was originally going to publish a post about how much I adore Pokemon, along with my history with it, but I did not feel like editing that wall of text, as I can summarize my thoughts on the series with this: I bought six Pokemon plushies, have a box of old toys, seven volumes of the manga, and once walked about a mile as a four-year-old to get Pokemon toys. I freaking adore the franchise, and it is probably the most influential piece of media I’ve ever been exposed to, as without Pokemon I would not be remotely the same person. So of course I bought Pokemon X, and played it for a good 130 hours, with a couple dozen left to go. However, I want to be somewhat timely.

Soft ButtThis is the boring time of year where I’m sorta tempted to make this a once every two weeks thing, but… I had enough for a page, so I’ll just start it off after knocking out how Persona 5’s web domain has been registered, which says little about the game’s release, seeing as how it’s been 6 years and no real info about it. But I’m also typing this while listening to a fandub of an anime intro where one of the first lines is, “Be gentle, this is my first time.” And am a few minutes away from rewriting the introduction of a Gimpsuited twelve year old boy with a vagina because I think it’s funny… This is my life, and I adore every aspect of it! Fire Emblem Awakening Review

Fire-Emblem-AwakeningFire Emblem was a series that I, along with countless others who naturally learned about it when it threw characters into Super Smash Brothers, but never really paid much attention to. However, as what was potentially the final game in the series dropped a few months ago showed that if you remove permadeath, the series can sell enough to justify its production costs in North America alone. Not sure if I have a ton to say that hasn’t been said, but I dumped 90 hours into this thing, and should probably review a game from 2012 not that the year’s halfway over. (more…)

Okay, most of the big news was thrown off in the first day, then the second day, and come the third and fourth days, there really was just over a page worth of stuff I felt like writing about, because it was just more in depth looks at the games announced on the first day. With most of my thoughts, like Yoshi’s New Island looking like hogwash even in 3D and A Link Between Worlds having the worst Link model in the series, staying the same.

Chibi-Robo!: Park Patrol Review

47824-chibi-robot-logoMaybe I’m just an oddball, but I really don’t recall the games I played as a kid until I play something very much reminiscent of it. Most likely due to how as a child I often preferred thinking about video games, as opposed to playing them due to how much I was intimidated by failure, not learning to appreciate challenge due to how I rarely encountered it anywhere before in my cushy life. The unknown scared me and I chose to play games where the objective was far more lenient for my piss poor hand eye coordination, or I just activated cheat codes. The point is that I played Chibi-Robo! back in 2006, which is the lens I choose to review its sequel under.

Crap, I didn’t plan ahead an April Fools idea! Damn you Spring Break, and your encouragement to dates being a distilled unreality! Now I’ve got to post the handful of stories I felt like talking about in the shortest Rundown/NWS yet. I blame the PAX for leaving me with just 6 topics! Rundwon PAX EastWell, I realized that the whole idea of a weekly segment being the actual title was pretty stupid, so I’ll just relabel that bit with the word, “Rundown”. If only because it fits and I like how it sounds. So… PAX East! Very cool convention, with some cool things happened in and out of it that I want to speak about. At least enough to fill a segment with things I personally consider to be worthwhile. But it was originally going to be both GDC and PAX, until I realized that was an awful idea, and am just putting everything together minutes before the post goes up.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn Review (of the first 20 hours)

Goldensun3

What do you do when you’re twenty hours into a game and don’t want to play it any longer? Review it and use that as a pretense. Golden Sun

I really have no excuse for not playing a title after five years of owning it. Other things kept coming up, leaving me with three half finished save files. But now that I’m picking titles out of a hat, more or less, I decided I would dive into the Golden Sun series. And I kinda wish I didn’t.

It is weird to own a game for four years, and not actually get around to beating it. But that is one of the unspoken goals of this blog, even if it is a series that has been talked about for the past decade and a half. And after finally sitting down and experiencing it, at least its oft dismissed remake, I can certainly see why people were so attached.

The Last Story Review

I really do hate it when I am not able to get content out regularly. Sure, I think that taking 13 days to beat a 42 hour game is understandable for someone who goes to high school, and needs to save an hour most days to work on something else. Either way, seeing as how my Wii ended up corrupting all of my Xenoblade data, all 90 hours of it, I decided I should unwrap this title, 3.5 months after I bought it. Yeah, I’m going to be working on that. Regardless, and without paying any mention to Operation Rainfall, or the creator’s whose names people know, my review of The Last Story.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star Review

You know, I didn’t even realize this until I was nearly done with this title, but Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door was pretty much the singular game that made me think of games as something more than things to mess around with. And as a child, made me fully consider them an artform. It was one of my favorite titles growing up. Hell, even before I knew what a fan fic was, I wrote one about that game. So I naturally had high expectations with this game, and suffice to say, it does not pass all of them.

My (Late) Thoughts on Pokemon Black 2

Pokemon is what got me into gaming. My four year old mind was attracted to reruns of the show as I spent my early years eating cereal in front of the tele, and when I hear there were games to add to my list of toys and trading cards, I jumped it… with Pokemon Stadium! And then a few years later I got a GBA and played the crap out of every version that I could get my hands on. And to this day, I still love the games, with Pokemon Conquest being one of my favorite titles of 2012. And as somebody who found Pokemon Black to be the his favorite Pokemon game, what do I think of Pokemon Black 2? Find out!
