The End of 2016!
Seeing as how the year is at its end, it is time to look back and assess 2016. There were some real bad things that happened throughout the past 366 days, most of them relating to the world at large, but the year did have some high points, at least for me. I started my gender transition, met my significant other, put out a novel and novella, started attending a real college, and started a new better job. I also reviewed over fifty games this past year, many of which I loved, and I feel it is appropriate to summarize and celebrate my favorite special treats I’ve indulged in throughout 2016. (more…)
Pokemon Moon Review
After several months of anticipation and near weekly coverage on my weekly news segment, Pokemon Sun and Moon finally arrived to mark the 20th anniversary of this series. One that I hold very closely to myself and ultimately love, but have become incredibly critical of, as the shortcomings of a series become excruciatingly evident after playing every game in the mainline series (except for Platinum). Sometimes, I start to lose all motivation for doing this, for writing about video game news, or even reviewing them. I think it is a self confidence issue, where I assume that the work I put out is bad, that nobody cares for it, and that the entire action is some sort of time wasting activity, even though I do enjoy writing about games at the end of the day. Rundown (10/02-10/08) Too Many Negatives!
I have been on quite the negative note regarding the game’s I’ve been playing. Metro 2033 Redux was a far worse version of a game I recall loving. Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past was a massive disappointment that had me question the entire quality of the series after finishing that review. MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune Vs. Zombies is just bad, and I’ll explain why soon, while Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the same infuriating crap as Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. I really hoping that I can low the next few games on my docket, because I’m tired of all of this upset and all of these negative reviews.
Rundown (9/18-9/24) One Day I’ll Write for a Video Game Site…
So, after several years years, it finally occurred to me that I should start looking through video game press releases instead of regular old video game news outlets. However, the only site that posts press releases for public consumption is Gamasutra, while the more direct and, in my opinion, better organized Games Press is only available to industry professionals and the sort. So expect to see a lot of links back to that site. As for why I’m doing this? Well, I like feeling like a real games writer sometimes. (more…)
Rundown (9/11-9/17) My Mind Is Like an Idiot
So, I’ve spent no less than a year wondering how to spell a stupidly obscure term that has been in my head ever since the Super Best Friends made it into a running gag. The gag involves calling the titular Titans from Attack on Titan Eoten, which refers to an obscure mythological giant and cannibalistic figure that one very petulant man insists is a superior translation than the English translation the Japanese publisher provided. However, the Super Best Friends continuously mispronounced that word as Ayoten or Iyotan making the act of researching it basically impossible. That is what is prominent in my Autistic brain today, and now it is out there on the internet. Yays. (more…)
Rundown (9/04-9/10) The Eaters of Gods Love Vore
I have been investing far too much time into God Eater Resurrection over the past week. I’ve still been working on my writing stuff, but I found a hole of rewarding and good feeling gameplay for the first time in a while, and boy is it a deep and warm one. Though, that’s not to say my review of the game will be wholly positive. I mean, whenever I get around to it. I have at least four more reviews queued up before that. Rundown (8/28-9/03) Lust Is Just a Frustrating Justice
So, I announced that I was going to release a revised version of one of my stories, Psycho Shatter, on September 11th. Well, progress has been slower than anticipated, and it will actually not be done until September 15th of so. I underestimated the workload, and want to make sure I am happy with the final product by editing it once more. Sorry that my output on that front has been so lacking as of late. (more…)

So, I managed to revise two of my most recent stories this week, and next week I am both ending a job and attending school at a big girl’s university. Life is going to get hard and hectic, according to my mother who never attended university. Though, I’m not worried about that. I am sorta worried about getting out content regularly, but I think I should be able to publish 52 game reviews this year and finish up Psycho Bullet Festival 2: Bury My Children. Rundown (8/07-8/13) “Moo Moo Moo” Said the Cow
So this week I began a project that will involve months of tedious data entry, and nearly everything that could go wrong with getting this project set up occurred when I tried setting it up. But I’m going to be paid good money for doing it. Also, my mother gave me a tablet that she got for free from AT&T. Meaning I could play Pokemon Go, if I had a data plan, quite easily as well due to the pair of Pokestops that are just a few blocks away from my house. However, I don’t, and I do not have anything else I can really use a tablet for. (more…)

I mentioned last week how I’m going to revise some of my earlier novels? Well, I’m still doing that, and I have to say that I’m surprised how happy I still am with Verde’s Doohickey. I did spend a lot of time at it, but I normally hate my work right after I finish it and always think that it can be done better. It’s actually been quite the confidence booster to reread it and edit a few minor elements. Heck, I would officially publish it if I had a cover, and I think I’ll start pursuing that fairly soon. So, I’ve been doing this for, what, three years now? I literally just remembered that I needed to post this within the past twenty minutes. Yeah, let that be a sentiment to how awful I can be at managing my various tasks and assignments, so long as they are self imposed at the very least. Rundown (6/05-6/11) PRE3 2016: Now With Less Eroge
E3 2016 is days away, and PRE3 2016 is in full effect. Reveals were made, trailers dropped, and leaks are still dripping from the sweaty underbelly of the video game industry in anticipation for the hype driven commercialized video game event of the year. I could be jaded and cynical about the whole blasted affair, but I’d gain nothing but smug satisfaction in doing so. Rundown (3/27-4/02) Like A Tsundere… ?
Jeepers am I going to have a lot of games to play this month. Hyper Light Drifter came out on March 31st, Hunie Cam Studios launches April 4th, Danganronpa 2 is out April 18th, and Double Root: Before Crime After Days Xtend Edition is out sometime this month. Plus a proper review of Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin should be up whenever I find time to finish that game amidst this chaos. Seriously, this is the reason why I don’t like buying lots of games at launch. You need to build your schedule around release dates, get 60% through a lot of games, and then stop suddenly and hopefully get back to it later. (more…)
Rundown (2/21-2/27) Weeaboo Levels Increasing (Something About an Enemy Stand)
Over the past week or so, I decided to start reading JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, even though I was pretty ambivalent to the series after watching the weirdly paced and dully colored anime series. I recall pondering that reading the colored manga would make for a far more enjoyable experience, and after a quick search to discover that Part 3 was indeed completed, I gave it a go, and it is one of the most enjoyable and creative works I have ever read through. It’s absurd when you get down to it, overly dramatic, quite stupid, all of which is intentional, and all of which I gobbled up like a hungry little chipmunk. I would be going through Part 4, but I want some breathing room. These things take ~5 years to make after all. Oh, and I’m also graduating from community college, and have been accepted in an honor’s society because I’m apparently smart. Pfft, yeah right. (more…)
