So, I didn’t pay much attention to it after its launch, it’s flaccid whimpering launch, but it was pretty obvious to everybody that something bad happened in the Bundie offices when this turkey was being baked. I know that it would be really hard, and the framerate would constantly plummet to 20 fps if one is lucky, but I really want to see a game where you can destroy all the buildings in it. Sure, there was Red Faction Guerrilla, but I want something like that set in a big modern city, as I get bored seeing the same darn sights when commuting every week and want there to be a game where you can cause collateral damage to millions and cost the city trillions as you destroy national monuments for the lolz. Instead the closest thing to what I want is No Man’s Sky, but I’m pretty sure the space cops will kill you if you try to dig a hole through the other side of the planet just to see how the game handles this. For whatever reason I’ve been feeling very tired on weekends lately. I it probably to do with how I get about six hours of sleep three days a week, seven on the other two, so I am just sleep deprived and sit at home instead of going out to a place where I have a designated objective. However, that means I do not want to write during the weekends as I feel out of wack, which is just fan-tucking-fastic for my series of novels that I should finish before I die in… five years or whatever the life expectancy of Millennials is. I think it’s 27… Also the weather has been dumb and I guess I may be too shit to defy nature… Plus, I’ve got allergies, but they’re just getting their troops ready for inter-bodily warface (more…)

I have a secret past time that I may have only ever told one person about, and I just spent about ten hours making it easier on me, because I lost something tied to it. What this secret thing is, however, should be pretty obvious if you look in between the lines I laid out and if you steal my computer… although the punishment I would deal on you for that would be on par if you deleted my Pokemon X file after I finally got all 713 obtainable Pokemon… obtainable for me at least. There are times when a game falls flat on expectations. When a game that is a personal favorite of many people you admire turns out to be something you just can’t get into. And times when it effectively kills your interest in the series it belongs to. But not Snake Eater, because it is my favorite Metal Gear Solid game thus far.

As stated prior, I apparently lived my life wrong to the point where I never ended up touching a PS2 or original Xbox controller, choosing a Gamecube because I could only get one, and I inherited a Nintendo 64. Which is a decent excuse for why I never played several titles, but no reason why I waited over a year until I opened up the Metal Gear Solid HD collection to continue my trek through the series. Well, guess I’m going to try and make this a thing. A weekly segment where I go through the many happenings of the game industry, and maybe address a bigger topic as well, since I don’t have room for it in a review.
