You know how they say you cannot have too much of a good thing? Yeah, that is complete nonsense. After last week’s rundown, where I was positively ecstatic about how Bowsette blew up, it completely went wild after a while, with thousands of people “jumping on the bandwagon” and drawing their own interpretations of the character, including some especially well known artists. Things went completely nuts once Japan found the fan art, and proceeded to turn Bowsette into the highest trending topic on Japanese Twitter, and continued to flood Twitter, Pixiv, and more with an absolute deluge of art.

I’ve probably mentioned this before, but when I encounter something in my day to day life, either at work or at home, and I have some level of involvement in the general going-ons, I typically associate all forms of bad things that occur as being, in some way, shape, or form, as being my fault. This includes things I was completely unaware of, that I was not informed of, that I literally could not prevent, and ones that did not directly involve me. It is a sense of guilt and responsibility that is likely a mutation of some moral values I picked up as a child, and carried with me as a core component of my personality, which results in me stressing out at my part time job far more than I reasonably should, to the point that I sometimes cause myself stomach pains. Ah yes, the fabled time of bliss and joy amongst the greater western video gaming community is finally here. While the event has been made obsolete to a certain degree thanks to the digital age and preeminent announcements, E3 is always a time of great powerhouse excitement for those who follow the gaming industry, with a plethora of announcements and various bits of news to be taken in.

I don’t really talk about this too often, but I do not have a very high opinion of myself. In fact, you could say that I have a problem where I doubt my abilities, capacity, and blame myself for things that are not even remotely my fault. So when I am able to surpass the low expectations I set for myself, I am often surprised. I mean, the fact that I have been able to do very well in school for the past 7 years (3.5+ GPA) and have been able to maintain a regular job for the past 3 are both things that I never thought possible. Heck, back when I was 10, I thought I would struggle to ever finish high school, fail to ever be employed in any capacity, and die before I reached my twenties via an accident or suicide. Anyways, onto the video game news. (more…)
As is customary in the realm of Gamindustri, the time after E3 is often rife with a lack of news as the press recuperates from their hectic schedule. Meanwhile, all the teenyboppers and overzealous adults who wound up with hype hangovers from the event are given the chance to partake in the annual Steam summer sale in order to gain a collection of dramatically marked down games that they may or may not get around to playing. Though, the deals are not as supple as they used to be, sadly. (more…)
I was going to make a post on NeoGaf about how I spent about 1.5k on games over the past two years, but ended up getting nearly 300 games in the end. However, I chickened out and could not bare to put my thoughts on a message board, because that is a great way to get murdered. I also bought a Chromebook so I could type things instead of sleeping while on the train, and am looking into buying some hormones because I should start HRT sooner than later. It won’t be a full gender transition or anything like that, as I think I’d be the most comfortable being Genderqueer. (more…)
