(more…)Rundown (8/24-8/30) Gamergate =/= Gamersgate, Buttface!
Okay, so this whole Zoe Quinn, Phil Fish, JonTron, “Gamer” validity, Journalism Debate, thing that apparently has been dubbed #Gamergate by some dolt, which I think will result in 37 murders, 7,208 layoffs, and 72 company deaths, has been going on, and I’ve lost track of what the hell is happening. All I really gathered was in the form of 4Chan deciding to fund a game made entirely by women, and creating the character of Vivian James, who I will end up using the design of in something I have yet to properly outline. She will probably have a Di-Sword or some shit. Oh, and thanks to TotalBiscuit for keeping a calm head about the situation and making this peachy keen blog post. But let’s not talk about that and instead, let’s just talk about VA-11 HALL-A a bartending sim about “waifus, technology, and the hard lives of post-dystopia citizens”. If it was on the Humble Store and had a Steam Greenlight page, it would already have my $8. Seriously though, check it out! (more…)
Rundown (6/09-6/10) E3 2014: Goodbye Despair, Hello Eighth Generation(?)
It is rather pointless for a little slice of nowhere blog with only a small number of views to do a summarization of the E3 press events, especially when they were not watching them live due to real life events, such as work. But I got home to catch the latter two, and catch up with the former before Nintendo did their event and managed to get everything done before Tuesday’s end… well after everybody and their brother did their own version of this, and often far better than my assorted ramblings that are made all the dumber by the insertion of anime screencaps. It’s Nigmabox’s third annual Super E3 Rundown!
Rundown (6/01-6/08) E3… and Butts… I’m Tired!
Well, it’s that time of year again, where the sun rises high and slowly creeps over to the other side of the country where magic truly does exist in the form of a corporate PR event that will be jam packed with ice cream pandas and lobster men who will undoubtedly be shot by a bunch of hired apathetic day workers… Sorry, I hit my head again and those words came out. Point it, it is Pre-E3, or Preeee! as one may call it if they started a blog post about video game news by insinuating the sun creates lobster men. And as expected, everybody’s gushing to get their big thing in every lady’s face before the oversaturated extravaganza hits when I’m at work… guess I better get the skeleton ready for me to pin flesh onto it! Rundown (4/13-4/19) I Really Should Get That There Aspie Test
Hey kids, guess what I did? Bought a Vita. I didn’t buy PS+ or a 32GB memory card, but the main system, a crappy plastic grip, and a 4GB memory card were sagged by me for $133 so I could not refuse. But seeing as how I don’t have much cash in my pockets, I only have one game which I played through twice before, Symphony of the Night. Why that? Because it is probably one of my favorite games of all time and I would be glad to own it on every system within a meter of where I sit as I type this intro that will help explain why I’m suddenly reviewing The Golden in… June-ish. Rundown (2/09-2/15) I Don’t Care a Hair
…Look, I just took a bear sized poo and spent my entire day around a bunch of talkative women who I call family for the second day in a row. I am trying to juggle with writing review, editing my novel, and just picked a subject for my research paper after trying to find one all morning. I’m working tomorrow morning, have a Borderlands 2 Partway Review going up on Tuesday, and am murdering my backlog to the point I only have seven games I want to play on Steam, but haven’t played them elsewhere. Well, the yearly hype machine is coming to a stop with Steam sales for the missing titles in many collections while game of the year listings are the only thing most websites have to do. So there was not a whole bunch of news, but enough for a post after waiting two weeks. Yet, a third of this is just from a Nintendo Direct and my very abridged version of it. (more…)
