Rundown (9/24-9/30) A 13-Year-Old Dream Lives On!
I believe that I have talked about how back when I was around the ages of 12 – 14, I was a big fan of a lot of Newgrounds flash animations, amateur made cartoons that often took the form of video game parodies, and provided one of my friends and I with countless hours of enjoyment. One of my favorite series from back then was TTA or TVTome Adventures, a story driven and incredibly ambitious series centered around a convoluted anime-esque story about people playing a virtual reality MMO based loosely on the online interactions of a bunch of teenagers. It was a 73.5 episode saga created primarily by one person, Chris Niosi, throughout his high school years, along with other various flash cartoons. (more…)

Seeing as how this week had little in the way of news that I cared about, I ended up doing a lot of rambling about two specific topics I have some level of passion behind, but do not fall into the category of gaming news that has come to define these Rundowns. Little King’s Story Review
Little King’s Story is among my favorite Wii games, and while I technically reviewed this game way back when, I generally look upon my writing during that time in a very negative light, and with a PC version recently coming out, I figured it was as good a time as any to revisit this delightful game, and I’m not too surprised by how I feel about it. Xenoblade Chronicles Review
This is a review that has been looming over me for roughly four years now. I originally bought Xenoblade at launch after the participating in Operation Rainfall, planned on reviewing it, but after seventy hours with the game my disc drive broke, and my interest in the game dissolved as complications delayed repairs. So the game was dropped, and I always felt bad for not finishing it. Now, four years later, I decided to replay the game using the Dolphin emulator and an HD texture pack. About a hundred hours afterwards, I really wish I had cleared this game years ago, if only so I wouldn’t have spent the past few weeks rushing to finish it. (more…)
Rundown (2/23-3/01) I Am Replaying Pokemon FireRed with Nuzlocke Rules
I have a secret past time that I may have only ever told one person about, and I just spent about ten hours making it easier on me, because I lost something tied to it. What this secret thing is, however, should be pretty obvious if you look in between the lines I laid out and if you steal my computer… although the punishment I would deal on you for that would be on par if you deleted my Pokemon X file after I finally got all 713 obtainable Pokemon… obtainable for me at least. Now I’m six hours into Pokemon Firered, this time with Nuzlocke rules. (more…)
Rundown (10/20-11/02) Sorry, I’ve Been… Look At The Bunnies
Yep, another double decker! Meaning there are untouched paragraphs from the twenty-second and a length that is a bit longer than I would like. With my image storage certainly dwindling, although I do occasionally find gems like the header. It actually makes me really upset at how CrunchyRoll is handling their manga service, as it is both limited in terms of library and requires a subscription to view pages available on the internet. I mean, really? Limited to only the newest chapter for series that have been going on for volumes? I’ll stick with hunting for delightfully insane stuff while procrastinating for my School Days review. Because goldarn is that show boring!
Little King’s Story Review

There is nothing quite like digging up a title that you are certain will end up becoming a gem of sorts in the not too distant future, and getting into an awkward middle phase where your thoughts allow for neither full introspection or current awareness. Either way, I picked up Little King’s Story for $13 and feel like talking about an obscure Wii title by the now defunct developer Cing. Oh, and I’m not even going to talk about the remake/reimagining, because of how poorly it appeared to have been handled, and this would become a rant to the very idea of said remake.
Klonoa Review
…Yeah, I’m not sure why I digged this old girl up again. I have other games I should be getting around to, but the ever large annoyance of DLC tempts me to wait for a “complete” experience once a sale hits. And I don’t want to dive into a Sandbox or another Metal Gear right now So I sat down with a budget title from Namco Bandai, jogged through it in two days, and was left realizing why it was largely forgotten and sold like spam at a vegan youth hostel.
Sengoku Basara: Samurai Warriors Review
Okay, time for a bit of history, seeing as How I like doing that when digging up fossils. Originally a series that began on the PS2, Sengoku Basara was originally brought over to the English world as Devil Kings, which tried to remove the Japanese from a game named after the Sengoku period. Why? Because Capcom, I suppose. So they decided to remove the three from the third game in the series and hope they could make some money. Not that it stopped it from getting 4.5s, which I can’t help but laugh at.
The Munchables Review
Alrighty, I’ve got several unopened titles, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Dishonored, Red Dead Redemption, The second and third Professor Laytons, Resident Evil 4, Okami, the Golden Sun trilogy. Hmm… nice backlog, but I’m gonna play this Wii game I got for $6, okay? My playing habits truly know no laws!

The Last Story Review
I really do hate it when I am not able to get content out regularly. Sure, I think that taking 13 days to beat a 42 hour game is understandable for someone who goes to high school, and needs to save an hour most days to work on something else. Either way, seeing as how my Wii ended up corrupting all of my Xenoblade data, all 90 hours of it, I decided I should unwrap this title, 3.5 months after I bought it. Yeah, I’m going to be working on that. Regardless, and without paying any mention to Operation Rainfall, or the creator’s whose names people know, my review of The Last Story.

Ubisoft, what the hell were you thinking with this title? It is odd enough that you would decide to release a 2D platformer, a sub-genre that has been reduced to downloadable titles unless it stars an Italian plumber, at retail for $60. But you release it on the busiest day of the busiest month in the industry? On the same day as your own Assassin’s Creed Revelations? You developed an engine to make this game, so you were trying to toss it into the lion’s den? Well, joke’s on you, this game not only survived the lions, but it crashed into your office looking for more work. This is Rayman Origins, my favorite 2D platformer of this generation, if not all of time! (more…)
