Woo! E3 is mostly over, and the hype has undoubtedly causes every audience member to burst with powerhouse excitement, and things may have gotten more than a little messy in the process. Anyways, the main conferences are done, the actual E3 event, where people try to get work done in a loud, crowded, and smelly convention center, is underway, and the only press conferences of the day was Nintendo’s. So let’s cut all pretense and jump right into the gooey center of the E3 Claire eclair.

Next week is going to be a hectic one for me. I have finals, work, and, of course, surgery all scheduled, and am scattering to get everything done in time. And seeing as how the The Game Awards were held this past week, I’ve got a lot of news to get through.

One of the more upsetting things for me about Breath of the Wild, at least conceptually, as I have yet to play the game, is how there was no option to change the spoken language of its characters without also changing the in-game text. It is a petty thing, but I never associated the denizens of Hyrule as being English speakers, as the snippets of Hylian featured in prior games did not sound like English. I bring this up because the ability to change the spoken language was added with a recent patch, but now I need to figure out which dub sounds the best, or the least worse. (more…)

Over the past week, I was able to finally do something that was approximately 18 years in the making. I was able to catch each and every officially released Pokemon. With 721 unique monsters in my Pokemon Bank, and the newly introduced 79 all organized neatly in my copy of Pokemon Moon, I now have access to all 800 Pokemon, and feel immensely satisfied by that fact. I may not be the very best, like no one ever was, but I’ve completed my real test to catch them all and I’ve followed my case to train them. I travelled across the lands, searching far and wide. So, I started hormones over this past week. Specifically on the 23rd, meaning my hormone anniversary will forever correspond with Sonic’s anniversary. The Steam summer sale began, and it is the worst one by far, as only a single game on my wishlist had a discount over 50%. I started working on a project with a friend of mine, which will likely manifest into something cool in about a year. Also, I’m going to be flooded with games over the next two weeks, as Zero Time Dilemma comes out on the 29th, while Megadimension Neptunia VII launches on July 5th. Golly, I’m going to be ever so busy with all these Japanese video games. (more…)
Before getting into Nintendo, there are something things I missed yesterday where I spent roughly 9 hours on a thirteen page Rundown, where I tried my darndest to recap the presence of about thirty games and write my impressions on all of them. Yes, I am sorry that I did not get up my South Park: The Stick of Truth review last week, it’s currently halfway done, and will go up late this week. JoJo will not be reviewed until the week after, as I find it very hard to watch and properly criticize as it is like listening to a deaf person give a speech, a well written speech, but one that is pronounced so bizarrely that I honestly feel a bit bad listening to it. E3 has come and gone for the year, returning next time for event number 21 during June 15th to 18th, but that is too far away to remember. Instead, it is enough to remember everything that happened, and what happened outside of the press conferences. That is what this post is for, but it also covers unrelated events that occurred at the same time, because that’s just efficient. …All of this? I only care about it a morsel as much as I care about Pokemon X/Y. I’ve been following the Neogaf thread about it and goddamn am I excited. I know, the “fun” is in discovering the new Pokemons you never heard of. Well, not for me. I’ve just been planning and preparing everything for my big rush into the Kalos region where I have the stupid, stupid, stupid goal of getting them all. Every poop licking Pocket Monster there is… Now, could one of you sexy young infants help me find my marbles? I’ll check and see if any flew up your assholes.
