So, a new build of Press-Switch came out, utterly surprising me, and as is always the case with releases of this game, or its sister title Student Transfer, it shot straight up on my priority list. Except this time I am actually going to review this latest build V0.5a, even though it is largely a revision that does not have most of the content, as, due to coding issues and a desire to change the introduction, the game needs to basically be remade. That would be enough to dissuade me in most cases, but screw it, I’ve wanted to review this game for almost 4 bloody years, and I’m gonna do it! At least, after I put out this massive Rundown.

Rundown (10/8-10/14) The Return of Press-Switch!

After three years of eager anticipation, it has finally happened. Press-Switch has finally been updated! For those unaware, or have forgotten, Press-Switch is an absurdly expansive freeware visual novel centered around body swapping, mind alteration, possession, cloning, merging and all kinds of fun stuff. While it may seem like some sort of fetish driven excursion, which it is at least to some extent, the level of detail, variety, and complexity in its story has turned it into something far greater that I could have ever expected, and I cannot say enough good things about the game. Rundown (5/15-5/21) Press T Switch

Press SwitchSo after two years of anticipation, Press-Switch, a body swap and tg focused visual novel that is also one of my favorite games of all time, is about to get its first update in two years. An update in the form of a single route that will effectively double the length of the game. It’s still months away, but once it releases, I’ll probably drop everything I have before going through all routes and writing a praise heavy review for the game. I could go on right now about how its characters are varied and memorable. Its scenarios nuanced and engaging. Its scope colossal and diverse. Its tone delightfully dark and even deprived at times. Along with how it influenced me as a writer. But I am a patient person, and can wait another seventeen months. (more…)

0 Nyarko Despair Is Your Goal Failure Your AmbitionMy Punchline review will be next week, I fell into a bit of a rut where I felt that I would be unable to appreciate it properly and as such put it off. It is the reason why I do not go through games as quickly as possible, as I feel that I will not be in the right mindset and as such will have an inaccurate opinion on the show. I know that is a messed up way to view things, but it’s why I asked my mother if I could start going to a therapist. Along with the gender bullcrap that I have developed because I’m an idiot who cannot be happy when they have no true reason to be unhappy. (more…)

The End Of 2014 Post

KLK Cute fun happy times with an elephant and bath swim time joy adorableSo, this year ended on a very busy note for me, hence why I have not been posting as much as I would like to. I’m basically working full time for a month, have an hour commute each way, and basically run off of six hours of sleep. Still, was this year good for me? Yeah, I released seven novellas! I thought two of them were crappy, and the rest had issues stemming from my lack of experience writing stories. But this post is mostly to call out the games I played and loved this year, which really are few in number. Yes, I enjoyed plenty of games, but those I loved, properly adored to a certain extent, were small in numbers, to the point where I lack ten. (more…)

Rundown (8/31-9/06) TGS Was About Two Hours Long

0 Watamote Yes Your Ass Stick is still a classic and this is totally awkwardWell, TGS happened and I only really found stuff of interest in Sony’s pre-conference, as Japan is all about those smartphone games, or distractions as most of them are. Yes, yes, I suppose you could say that of all games, but phone games are made for brief distractions that do not leave any sort of impact other than using unsavory physiological manipulation into tricking people that they are having a good time…. how do I transition this into talking about how Aliens: Colonial Marines is still unravelling its story of lies and making Randy Pitchford look more like a scumbag? By being lazy. Yay! (more…)

0 Press Switch To The InternetOkay, so following a, well, a year sparse in terms of great games, at least in terms of what I’ve been playing, I both revisited The Walking Dead and visited what I dub the fifth tier of indie games, titles that nobody knows about, have little information given, and are for the majority of the cases, just bad. Well, that’s where I stumbled onto Press Switch, a Ren’Py made visual novel that is the most overly ambitious and pandering appearing thing that effectively blew me away by offering a barrage of content, and quality stuff at that. Now, I am naturally bias as I am part of the subset of people who are fond of transformation, gender alteration, and body swapping in terms of fiction, as if you couldn’t tell by reading my novel, The Body of Raiyne. Yet the fact that I found something that is both a visual novel and a quality one at that is nothing short of amazing. Downside is that the game’s choices are difficult to track, to the point where a flowchart is necessary. It is also made from a subset of Japanese visual novels by the name of Bishop, and the creator made sure to use as much as they could from them, including several sex and masturbation scenes, some of which include rape… Yeah, not a fan of that in the slightest. Still, third best game I’ve played in 2014 after The Stanley Parable and Persona 4 Golden… take that, game industry. (more…)
