Currently my school-based workload is diminishing, my mother is doing a lot better, and my mental state is in a more stable position, so reviews will resume on Wednesday, and a more structured format will hopefully be established in the following weeks. But in the meantime, the small assortments of stories I found noteworthy this past week all followed a corporate theme of sorts and, while ultimately positive, are difficult for me to not view in a cynical light. My reasoning from this universally stems from how much corporations get away with in these modern times, and how, well, following just about anything for years upon years causes people to become jaded.
So, this past week it became abundantly apparent to me just how busy my schedule is. With my ongoing part-time job of the past two years, my occasional second job where I help out an accountant kicking off again, a new third job where I help another accountant with more complicated matters, and the beginning of my accounting master’s program, which is like a bachelor’s program, but with more projects. When combined with the stuff I do for this site, and the production of a novel, it amounts to a pretty hectic time, but with the education, experience, and money I am getting, I really cannot complain.
Seeing as how I am going to begin presenting myself as female within a month or so, I have recently been shopping for a large quantity of clothes in search for ones that look good and actually fit me. Female clothing in particular uses at times baffling measurements to determine sizes and how large a certain article of clothing should be on a person. And if one goes against the generally accepted norms by being very small or taller than average, then clothes shopping becomes that much more annoying. Being 5 foot 10 and 125 pounds, or 178 cm and 57 kg, I am pretty much relegated to tall small clothing, and searching for decent clothes in those sizes made me realize why women stereotypically spend so much time shopping. Because even finding something as simple as a good crewneck sweater can be an endeavor.
After three years of eager anticipation, it has finally happened. Press-Switch has finally been updated! For those unaware, or have forgotten, Press-Switch is an absurdly expansive freeware visual novel centered around body swapping, mind alteration, possession, cloning, merging and all kinds of fun stuff. While it may seem like some sort of fetish driven excursion, which it is at least to some extent, the level of detail, variety, and complexity in its story has turned it into something far greater that I could have ever expected, and I cannot say enough good things about the game.
