Rundown (12/23-12/29) Humdrum Holiday Hoopla

As I have gotten older I have become increasingly accustomed to the structure and format of a work week to the point where I honestly find any deviation to that to be bizarre. Most notably in the form of holidays, as they either serve as days off from work, or a heavily marketed events that encourage rampant consumerism, sometimes both. Honestly, they all feel arbitrary and kind of pointless to me, and while I do appreciate having additional free time sporadically throughout the year, various obligations and festivities only go to limit that free time more, making the whole ordeal rather pointless. Also, my Christmas consisted of sitting around in a noisy condo for 4 hours, eating mediocre fattening food, and wishing that I could be home working on my novel, or at work making money.

WhassupApologies for not getting a Hyperdevotion Noire review up. Work, school, and family stuff all cut into the time I could put into that game. Review should be up tomorrow evening. Also, on May 31st I will (hopefully) release a novella I’m currently working on called Maple Loves Senpai. It’s a story about a Japanese schoolgirl who gets absorption powers and is guided by the voice of her lover to consume people in order to transform herself into his ultimate waifu. Many stereotypes and dark themes ensue. (more…)

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin Review

20160326144447_1It’s been about three and a half months since I looked at Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, a sequel to a game I came around to loving despite a few gripes, but found irritating to play because of a few mechanical changes. But with Dark Souls III coming out tomorrow, at least for those who haven’t grabbed the Asian English version, I figure I may as well give it another go and actually beat the game. (more…)

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin Review (Based on 16 Hours)

2015-12-22_00011I gave this game another shot several months later. Please consult the full review I wrote for it.

Despite having a poor initial introduction to the series, I came to love Dark Souls in due time. Its mechanics, atmosphere, world design, and so forth are all what makes it an incredibly memorable and ultimately excellent game. As such, I was quite eager to play Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, but after spending roughly 16 hours with it, spread across two playthroughs, I felt myself lose the will to continue playing, as the game was simply making me depressed and resent myself as a human being. 0 GUP Depression Life id Painful Sad Lonely GroanSo, I am now in the weeds regarding a massive group project I have doubts will be completed on time. I am behind on my next novel, The Malicious Abigale Quinlan after some major retooling occurred. I just turned 21, and am having doubts about truly being transgender despite the fact I have already made strides in changing my voice. I should start working on my new computer within a few weeks. Also, I need to change my sleep schedule so I am in bed by midnight. Growing up is still hard. (more…)

Rundown (9/06-9/12) Chronologically Correct Sonic OSTs

0 DR I have no fanfic bigotry jerk fuckwit good girlI am surprised that Sega has not tried to shut down Sonic World, as it is basically a refined and reworked best-of compilation of Sonic Adventure 1, 2, and Heroes, all games I grew up with and love in a way, even if they don’t play very well. But seeing that combined with enough care and autistic fan devotion to add in every possible playable character from Heavy and Bomb to Fang the Sniper makes me jitter in sheer disbelief that this is real. True, I only played two levels of the game as Knuckles before I realized that this game was definitely still in an alpha or pre-alpha state and put it down, but if it is ever completed, this fan-game may very well be the best Sonic game. 0 Haganai You Commited Plagarism feel badAfter seventeen years in the making, not really but it felt like it, I am finally done with Verde’s Doohickey, my novel for 2015, although I may put another one out on Christmas of New Years. Depends on how quickly I can write this far simpler story and how easily the dynamic between the two main characters flows, because I have been struggling to get the everyman and asshole dynamic right for years… Man, it’s only been a day and I’m already talking about my next thing. Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition Review

dark-soulsAs I have been getting on in the years, I have been struggling with time management, and the fact that I have spent the past… month working full time does not help. During most of that month, I’ve been picking away at Dark Souls, a title I nothing short of hated when I first tried it back when it was shiny and new. But, after years of loathing simmered down, I decided to give it another chance. Did I like it? Well, I beat it, and that should say quite a bit. (more…)

KLK Damnit Mako, you wacky space digger for being so cute that I cannot refuse fine you are exceptedI am currently working on my final papers, one of which I recycled and one of which I vomited out because I was guaranteed an A in the class, and one of which I am halfway done with, but am really bored by. I am writing a review of Arkham Asylum and playing Castle Crashers because my Vita memory card isn’t coming until tomorrow and I want it to come before I start Golden. I am revising my plans for Terra’s Tales of Tremendous Transcendance because copyright laws are dumb and you cannot sell something that contains the word Pokemon in it. And I am also probably going to get a job either where my mother works or with an accounting firm if their intern thing goes through. That’s my story and I’m going to hide in a box now, bye! …Or stay since I have a page of game stuff to speak about. (more…)
