Rundown (1/27-2/02) The Saga Must Go On!

So, just a few days ago I released The Saga of Vincent Dawn, and while I am ultimately happy with the finished project, I am aware that some of the writing seen throughout the story is not up to my previous writing standards. The act of going through and summarizing a hundreds of pages of poorly written text is an arduous process, especially when it is very personal to you, and when it came time to edit it all once more, my patience grew slim, as I just wanted to be done with the project and get started on the next one. Though considering how I am still working on the outline, I really have no idea when it will be done. But it will get done, ‘cos I’ve got a story to tell and I’m gonna tell it no matter what, even if nobody actually reads it.

Rundown (6/10) E3 2018: Consumption Makes the Heart Grow Fuller

As is customary with celebrating an event such as this, it is important to acknowledge the futility of this event. E3 is effectively one big commercial designed to hype up consumers in order to spur discussion and news about games, in order to help maximize potential revenue, in order to allow major AAA studios to continue existing. It is very easy to view this whole affair cynically, pointing out the downsides of high expectations and how gaming is arguably most enjoyable when ignoring industry nonsense. But I cannot help but love the act of fervorous consumption all the same, as it is a very filling and pleasing experience that still serves as a good excuse to become excited in a world that… I’d rather not talk about right now. Time for video games!

Rundown (5/21-5/27) Cheap Cheap Cheap’s The Name of My Soul

I have probably listened to the soundtracks for each of the Parappa games about eight times now, and find myself constantly humming and thinking of the lyrics whilst I do other things. Also, I ended up making a recording of me trying to sing one of the songs despite the fact that I cannot sing worth a toss and know next to nothing about audio editing. I hope my voice does not sound too atrocious. (more…)

And E3 is done… Kinda. Yes, I know the first proper day just happened, but after the press events, my work is mostly done, and 90% of the announcements are out of the way. It’s just impressions from here on out, which is just dandy in my book. However, Nintendo, Square Enix, and AMD all had press conferences, so I’ll just get to explaining what the blazes they were about, and what my Autistic mind thought about them. (more…)

Rundown (6/01-6/08) E3… and Butts… I’m Tired!

VO Check out my butt in the bathWell, it’s that time of year again, where the sun rises high and slowly creeps over to the other side of the country where magic truly does exist in the form of a corporate PR event that will be jam packed with ice cream pandas and lobster men who will undoubtedly be shot by a bunch of hired apathetic day workers… Sorry, I hit my head again and those words came out. Point it, it is Pre-E3, or Preeee! as one may call it if they started a blog post about video game news by insinuating the sun creates lobster men. And as expected, everybody’s gushing to get their big thing in every lady’s face before the oversaturated extravaganza hits when I’m at work… guess I better get the skeleton ready for me to pin flesh onto it! Who do I need to scrub like a stain for Having the majority of E3 conferences cram up one single day? Personally, I am starting college today with a summer session. Leaving when Microsoft begins their talks, and coming back when EA begins.  However, I managed to watch all the press conferences and give my impressions. So I’ll just leave this here and sleep up as I regret being a bit outrageous with my emotions because I’m just so overwhelmed with the feels! (more…)
