Rundown (2/10-2/16) Flowchart Nightmares Ahead 2: You Can (Not) Prepare

Last Friday the Student Transfer development team announced that Version 4 will be coming before the end of February, boasting that this version will contain roughly twice the content as Version 3. A surprising bit of news that I find to be simultaneously exciting and intimidating to me, as I have taken on the duty of creating the flowcharts for sprawling choose-your-own adventure style visual novels about TG, body swapping, and more. I very much want to enjoy the game and take my time with it, but Version 3 took me a good week to get through, so I am a bit concerned about getting a flowchart ready in a timely manner, especially with work and grad school keeping me so busy. As such, I decided to do my homework in advance and download what I can off of the public Student Transfer GitHub in order to get cracking on a rough flowchart for V4 at the risk of spoiling myself.  Only to discover that with the way this game is developed, I would basically need to consolidate the builds available myself and… yeah, that sounds like more trouble than it’s worth.

Rundown (3/25-3/31) Live Services Are Dangerous

So, it’s been about three weeks since I quit Fire Emblem Heroes and swore off playing it, or any other service based game. I can be a somewhat obsessive person at times, and the idea of missing out on something that is time limited instills a sense of anxiety and guilt within me that I absolutely cannot stand. It is an awful feeling, and I honestly never want to feel this way about another game ever. Henceforth, I am not allowing myself to play any service games, because it causes me to express unhealthy tendencies.

Rundown (7/23-7/29) Much Ado About Rambles

Seeing as how this week had little in the way of news that I cared about, I ended up doing a lot of rambling about two specific topics I have some level of passion behind, but do not fall into the category of gaming news that has come to define these Rundowns. Sorry about that, but this is my segment, and I’ll talk about whatever I goldarn want to. (more…)

Rundown (7/02-7/08) I’m Surprised by My Ability to Function

I don’t really talk about this too often, but I do not have a very high opinion of myself. In fact, you could say that I have a problem where I doubt my abilities, capacity, and blame myself for things that are not even remotely my fault. So when I am able to surpass the low expectations I set for myself, I am often surprised. I mean, the fact that I have been able to do very well in school for the past 7 years (3.5+ GPA) and have been able to maintain a regular job for the past 3 are both things that I never thought possible. Heck, back when I was 10, I thought I would struggle to ever finish high school, fail to ever be employed in any capacity, and die before I reached my twenties via an accident or suicide. Anyways, onto the video game news. (more…)

Rundown (12/11-12/17) Rundown 200: This Site Is Nothing but Trash

vlcsnap-2016-11-03-23h26m55s265So over the course of four years, I’ve done two hundred of these news rundowns as a way for me to project my thoughts on gaming news, because I generally enjoy doing so, as long as the games or new itself interests me in some way. This does result in me not partaking in a lot of scandals, outrages, and general community focused things. I do this because I don’t really see myself as an active member in such a community, and I view things like the Watch Dogs 2 vagina dilemma and No Man’s Sky fervor as topics that are best left handled by other people, as I often would just roll my eyes towards them. Anyways, time to talk about some video game announcements. (more…)

Nyarko Crazy Insane Nuts NonsenseI’m genuinely worried about how I’ll be able to manage my time going forward, as I have recently begun school once more, and now lack a job where I can easily find the time to work on my stories, reviews, or weekly rundowns like these, as I just left my job for the past two years in favor of a better paying one that doesn’t have me wake up at 6:30 in the morning. Also, I now have a friend to interact with every day. Welcome to this crazy time indeed, hopefully I will learn how to manage the chaos of this dysfunctional system. (more…)

Rundown (8/08-8/15) Verde’s Doohickey Is an Act Of Plagiarism… I Think

0 Haganai You Commited Plagarism feel badAfter seventeen years in the making, not really but it felt like it, I am finally done with Verde’s Doohickey, my novel for 2015, although I may put another one out on Christmas of New Years. Depends on how quickly I can write this far simpler story and how easily the dynamic between the two main characters flows, because I have been struggling to get the everyman and asshole dynamic right for years… Man, it’s only been a day and I’m already talking about my next thing. 0 Jojo CEO paul marketting badnes oh dear gameinustri is on fire fuck the policeI know that it would be really hard, and the framerate would constantly plummet to 20 fps if one is lucky, but I really want to see a game where you can destroy all the buildings in it. Sure, there was Red Faction Guerrilla, but I want something like that set in a big modern city, as I get bored seeing the same darn sights when commuting every week and want there to be a game where you can cause collateral damage to millions and cost the city trillions as you destroy national monuments for the lolz. Instead the closest thing to what I want is No Man’s Sky, but I’m pretty sure the space cops will kill you if you try to dig a hole through the other side of the planet just to see how the game handles this. 0KLK Because of that we are soul sisters and don't you forget it broskyE3 has come and gone for the year, returning next time for event number 21 during June 15th to 18th, but that is too far away to remember. Instead, it is enough to remember everything that happened, and what happened outside of the press conferences. That is what this post is for, but it also covers unrelated events that occurred at the same time, because that’s just efficient. I am sure to be missing a lot as I fixate on the things I care about, but here are my Krimskrams of information as always. (more…)
