Wherein I discuss my pursuit to the grave, the glory of backwards compatibility, a game where you can play as a pig who can transform into rockets, Activision perpetuating evil from the very top, a cynical crossover clash, and a response to a most “Definitive” failure.

Rundown (6/10) E3 2019: Work X School X Conferences

You know what the worst past of E3 is? The fact that I cannot simply drop everything to enjoy spending an entire day in video game wonderment. As such, since 2013 the Monday kicking off E3 has always been a frustrating affair where I not only want to watch the conferences, do a write-up, which takes time because I am a slow writer, and keep up with the news that falls between the cracks, but I need to attend college classes and do part-time office work that mostly consists of spreadsheets, filing, and processing bodily specimens. Anyways, enough customary moaning.  The video games are here!

Rundown (6/09) E3 2019: Get Your News While It’s Hot!

I am very well aware of the fact that it is beyond pointless for me to try and cover an event like E3 or offer my hot takes on any given press conference due to the simple fact that everybody and their baby cousin is doing the same darn thing, and that my posts do not technically go up until hours later, where they offer a text-based summary of a video broadcast. It is all kind of pointless in a sense, but I have fun making this elongated opinionated summaries, and that’s the important part. …I think.

Rundown (1/27-2/02) The Saga Must Go On!

So, just a few days ago I released The Saga of Vincent Dawn, and while I am ultimately happy with the finished project, I am aware that some of the writing seen throughout the story is not up to my previous writing standards. The act of going through and summarizing a hundreds of pages of poorly written text is an arduous process, especially when it is very personal to you, and when it came time to edit it all once more, my patience grew slim, as I just wanted to be done with the project and get started on the next one. Though considering how I am still working on the outline, I really have no idea when it will be done. But it will get done, ‘cos I’ve got a story to tell and I’m gonna tell it no matter what, even if nobody actually reads it.

Rundown (10/29-11/04) Natalie Vs. Finance

With my facial feminization surgery less than two months away, I have been taking a closer look at my future finances and how exactly I am going to afford things going forward into 2018. Things are not as well as I initially forecast, but by borrowing money from my grandmother, I should be able to afford the surgery without using up absolutely all of my liquid assets, and will only walk away with a fairly small account payable. Which I will pay back over the 2018 period, wherein I hope to see slightly increased revenues, but in order to afford the many new expenses I will encounter in this period, I will need to forego certain luxuries. Most notably frequent game purchases. Gah, finances, you are quite the troublesome dastard sometimes. (more…)

Rundown (6/11) E3 2017: Return of the Busiest Time in My Life

E3 has begun, and thankfully the duties have been spread apart this year, with the previously mostly vacant Sundays are now being used by two major press conferences. Meaning that I only have three more to go after pushing out this post right at the cusp of midnight because Bethesda thinks it is good to have a press conference at 9 PM PST. Also, the title of this post is not a lie. I do more work per day during the Monday and Tuesday of E3 than I do during any other time during the year. Especially this year, as I have to work and attend class while E3 is going on. Anyways, on with the rundown. (more…)

Rundown (9/18-9/24) One Day I’ll Write for a Video Game Site…

watamote-terror-terrible-joy-happy-shock-horror-antsSo, after several years years, it finally occurred to me that I should start looking through video game press releases instead of regular old video game news outlets. However, the only site that posts press releases for public consumption is Gamasutra, while the more direct and, in my opinion, better organized Games Press is only available to industry professionals and the sort. So expect to see a lot of links back to that site. As for why I’m doing this? Well, I like feeling like a real games writer sometimes. (more…)

Rundown (5/15-5/21) Press T Switch

Press SwitchSo after two years of anticipation, Press-Switch, a body swap and tg focused visual novel that is also one of my favorite games of all time, is about to get its first update in two years. An update in the form of a single route that will effectively double the length of the game. It’s still months away, but once it releases, I’ll probably drop everything I have before going through all routes and writing a praise heavy review for the game. I could go on right now about how its characters are varied and memorable. Its scenarios nuanced and engaging. Its scope colossal and diverse. Its tone delightfully dark and even deprived at times. Along with how it influenced me as a writer. But I am a patient person, and can wait another seventeen months. (more…)

0 E3 2015Steam Summer Sales started serenely and sadly my selection of specific software ‘s selling-price stayed- screw this shaz. I keep a list of reservation prices I keep for certain games, which I adhere to well, and there were not a ton of games whose selling price dropped beneath the reservation price. So far I got Metro Redux and Epic Fantasy Battle 4 because I have some nostalgia for mid-ots Newgrounds. I will get Momodora III, Dysfunctional Systems: Learning to Manage Chaos, and DreadOut as the sale ends, but will wait to see if there are any dailies. I set myself a limit of $100 to spend, which is harder because I need to now pay taxes on Steam purchases… (more…)

0 Mayonaka no X Giten cut off your balls because that would be a fun trans girl man woman thing to do masturbateI was going to make a post on NeoGaf about how I spent about 1.5k on games over the past two years, but ended up getting nearly 300 games in the end. However, I chickened out and could not bare to put my thoughts on a message board, because that is a great way to get murdered. I also bought a Chromebook so I could type things instead of sleeping while on the train, and am looking into buying some hormones because I should start HRT sooner than later. It won’t be a full gender transition or anything like that, as I think I’d be the most comfortable being Genderqueer. (more…)
